I beleived it was in 1969...and I of course bought all the others! In 1971 while I was a student we had to do some kind of research for my french class on a subject of our choice. We had to present it in front of the class and we were all nervous just thinking to stand alone in of the class !!! Of course mine was on the Moody Blues and I had 1 month to prerare for it. I found my information from different magazines and also recorded on a cassette some cuts of their best songs. (every good boy deserves favour had just been released) The big day arrived and walked in front of the class with my notes and cassette and very nervous but I knew I had something pretty good! The average time of most student spent in front of the class was 15 minutes. I stayed in front of the class the whole course 45 minutes ! I was given a 100% note by my fellow students !. At the end of the course the teacher asked me if he could borrow all my Moody Blues albums! Time went by and around 1982 someone approached me at work and asked me if my name was Ray Lepage I said yes and told me he had all the Moodies albums and telling me how good was the last one (Long Distance Voyager) and because of me he was a moodies fan. I did not know who he was and asked how he knew me ? He said he was in my french class back in 1971!!! I had to wait till 1990 before seeing the Moodies here in Ottawa for the first time...I think they started the show with the Voice...and what a feeling ! my whole body was shevering with each notes!! I saw them in 1992 at the National Art Center in Ottawa....again I had goose bumps all over me when they walked on stage ! I would like to know if they are planning to come to Ottawa again and when ? Thanks....I was a Moody blues fan in my teens and still am in my forties!!! (P.S...sorry if the english is bad I'm French Canadian !) |

Propitiation is the correct theological word for the process of Christ dying for our sin so we could be made right with God. The Word of God says, "The reward for sin is death" and, "There is no difference between people because all have sinned, and fallen short of God’s glory." To sin is to be less than perfect in righteousness. Anything that is less than perfect righteousness is unrighteousness. God being perfectly righteous and good must punish unrighteousness with death. However, God doesn’t want to destroy anyone but wants all people to have an opportunity to turn to Him and change the way they think and act. To satisfy His own righteousness, God sent His Son (who is known as Jesus) to die for the sin of all the people in the world, so that anyone who would believe in Him would not need to be punished anymore. As proof of His power, Christ raised Himself from the dead. After appearing to many eyewitnesses, (Over 500 at one time), He ascended into Heaven and now is at the right hand of God. Now anyone who will believe in Jesus, which was raised from the dead, and will call out to Him will be forgiven for all their sin and given the gift of eternal life. For a new Moody Blues fan, about one month, it has completed my addiction to the Moody Blues. Their music is incredable, and its even better to know that some of the Moody Blues are Christian, which I am too. I have recently started my own band, The Sugar Mountain Band, which is heavily based upon The Moody Blues and Neil Young. [Sugar Mountain is a Neil Young song] I will always be a dedicated Rusty following the Horse no matter how good the Moody Blues are. But they are a very close second. One of the members of our group, Allison Roberts, was lucky enough to meat Justin Heyward. What she wanted to say when she met him was that she had been to seven of his concerts already. [were all in High School] Instead she said "I've been to seven concerts before I was born" amongst tears and histaria. Justin Heyward had a very bewildered look on his face. Once the band has its Homepage setup I'll send it to you, because its sure to be filled with all sorts of Moody odds and ends. I'm thrilled that there is still such a large fan base in the U.S. and around the world for this most wonderful of bands. I have been a fan since 1967 when my brother forced me to listen to "Days of Future Passed" because he said I (the classical music snob) would like it because it combined "my" music with "his" (rock and roll). I was captivated then and have never been disappointed by them. After all these years, for me there is no other band to compare. Their message of love, brotherhood, harmony, peace, giving, generosity and compassion is still as relevant today (maybe even more so) as it was back in the "innocent" 60's. Recently I've been listening to Time Traveler at home and the other albums in my car as I drive, and am just floored once again by their message, their music and their splendid spirit. Your concert pictures came out better than the ones I had to sneak (no cameras allowed) in Montreal for the Long Distance Voyager Tour. Also saw them in Stowe with the Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra. It was in the open, nothing like hearing Tuesday Afternoon with mountians all around you. |
