I first heard the Moodies when I was 15, back in southern India on the 1 million watt short wave station, The Voice of America. And the song they played was "Ride My See-Saw". It was the start of an unbelievable journey into music that has brought me to this point - where I have every album they have made together and collectively (and free, while I was in the record business.:-). I get goosebumps listening to some of their stuff! Fabulous stuff! Thank God for CDs I can now play their music without fear I will wear out the LPs. Only one way to listen to their music - LOUD!!! I am unable to go to concerts and I don't get to see the Moody Blues live-but still have a big place in my heart for this band and will forever and always. Recently attended the first ever MB concert in Lubbock Texas, home of another great Buddy Holly. In an interview with local newspaper Justin said that he considered Buddy Holly to be greater than Elvis because Buddy wrote the music, lyrics and performed. Elvis only performed. Justin hinted that MB may return to Lubbock to help raise money for a the Buddy Holly Museum.....we're all hoping it happens. The MB concert was by far the best to ever hit this west Texas town. |

I have bought all of their recordings three different times. The first time I bought then but then sold my entire collection of rock recordings. Several years later I bought all of the Moodies recordings again because I missed listening to their music. Then, over many years of moving around, kids and constant playing I wore the albums out. So a number of years ago I went out and bought everything ever done by the Moody Blues as a group, or individually. I've been able to see them live in concert 4 time over the last 20 years. They still rank number 1 as my fovorite rock group. |
