Comments: Hi! This is a bit spooky for me ... when I saw the link to "Joyce's Moody Blues Page" I just about fainted! I was introduced to the Moody Blues as a youngster by my mother. I have only recently started listening again, as the music brought back too many sad memories for my mum, who suffered a messy marriage split some years ago. Since I've been buying up the back-catalogue, however, mum's started listening again and enjoys the music more now than she did before. Oh, by the way my mum's name is Joyce... Thanks for the great page!

One of the best nights in my life was in July, 1997 when I saw Justin Hayward (my favorite Moody!) in concert at the Strand Theatre in Providence. He was promoting his new CD "A View from the Hill". We sat in the third row from the stage and I swear I was so close I could smell his breath(sweet)! He and his band gave a performance I'll never forget. He did a lot of his compositions from the Moody Blues and these were my favorites. My only regret is that I didn't bring a camera and some flowers for Justin.

Comments: In my late teens, around 1979, I became a huge fan. I saw them in Lincoln, NE on their Long Distance Voyager tour (1980?). I believe I have every album, on vinyl, including the Mobile Fidelity "Days of Future Passed". It's tough to pick, but a favorite song for me is "For My Lady". I have listened to these guys for 20 years now! I saw them in 1997 at Fiddler's Green in Denver. It was great, although we sat toward the back, on the grass. I compose music, and these guys' melodies have inspired me. I couldn't believe it today when I saw the blue water/velvet background on this site! Check out the cover photo on "Smoking 'Class' Citizen", a CD I collaborated on and is on the Fuji Publishing page. Hmm... I just bought "Caught Live Plus Five" today and am really enjoying it! Long live the great melodies of the Moody Blues!

So get your vibes together and express your thoughts on the astral plane and just maybe the Moodies will join once again. The universal love flow will not be forsaken.

Comments: I bought "Days of Future Passed" in 1973 and enjoy the Moodies even more now. I'm looking forward to their new album this year (Finally!) and hopefully seeing them live once more.(I haven't seen them dozens of times like a lot of fans have.) I wish they weren't viewed by some as just another "oldies" band or as a Vegas act. Their lack of new material makes them seem such, unfortunately (and it's the music that drives them, not money). I don't know how much longer they will continue touring, so I hope the upcoming CD will be a rousing success so they can go out with another standing ovation.... Justin's future is obviously being set forth as he tests the solo waters. MB fans out there -- seeing Justin live on his own is a must if you can. I have and he is brilliant and can easily carry a solo career off!! It makes for a warm and memorable evening. PS--thanks for creating a beautiful website and for sharing some great pics of our favorite band. I enjoyed visiting here!! Be well and God bless!

Comments: Hello Joyce, I'm so new at this internet stuff but I'm having a ball chasing down the wealth of info on our beloved MOODIES. You have got very interesting page here. I'm sure I'll visit it often. I was very disappointed that the MOODIES once again chose to skip over the Buffalo area in '98. I was not far from their Jones Beach concert but my work schedule kept me from going. In '97 they also skipped Buffalo but my sister-in-law Karen, and I could not bear to miss them and we went to Blossomfest. I cannot tell you how much it broke our hearts not to attend once again last year (long heartbreaking story). Perhaps our luck will change this summer when the new tour is announced, because Blossomfest was just the best!! and I want to experience it again and again. Who knows, maybe with the new CD they will expand their summer tour and we will be able to attend Blossom and a local concert as well. I don't know about others but somehow I don't think I could get into the casino thing. I want to believe the are capable of growing and continued contributions to the music world and the casinos make me think they will be deligated to rock history (dinosaurs-aaaa). Anyway, keep on believing in the Land of Make Believe. I'll be there with you.

Comments: It's so odd to me that the Moody Blues stand head and shoulders above other rock bands of the '60s and '70s, and yet they seem to be treated with thinly veiled contempt by the music establishment. Perhaps they were just too good. In any event, they had much more to say than most other performers. Sigh, I wish the five of them could get together this summer and cut just one more album. As was once said, if the MBs are a hand of five fingers, it was Mike Pinder who pointed.

Comments: Great site! I listened to the Moody Blues a lot during my hippie days, and still enjoy listening to them from time to time. I too think it is sad to see some of the great groups of the 60's and 70's playing in Vegas or Tahoe. It just isn't right somehow. I did happen to see Justin Hayward on TV just yesterday, and his voice just isn't the same anymore. I like what Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane said once that "she did not want to just hang on, and be an old rock n' roller up on stage singing songs she had sung 30 years ago". I would like to remember the Moody Blues for the great group they always were, not a bunch of has-beens up on stage in Las Vegas. They were, and are, too good for that.

Comments: I love the Moody Blues..but it saddens me to see them play places like Lake Tahoe. I would rather see them retire than turn into another Vegas type lounge act, I think they are doing it purely for the $$ I would rather see them put their last gasp of genuis into one final great CD of studio material....

Comments: I don't have words to describe these guys. I am getting psyched up to go to Vegas March 4, for their concert at Caesar's. I went last year and nearly lost my mind. If you hear of some woman kidnapping Justin, it's me. I have a thing for that guy that you wouldn't believe, or maybe you would! It's not like I am the only female that would leave home for him. Lucky Marie!!

Comments: Great website! It's always good to see how the MB's have inspired some of their fans. Your dedication and level of involvement is admirable. As a long time fan of the band, since the mid 60's, it is however somewhat disconcerting that the they have become over the last decade just another oldies act. The lack of new product for their fans has been disappointing to say the least. They are still enjoyable in concert, except Justin(who I named my only son after),who always looks as if he would rather be somewhere else. I can't believe that their creative juices have ceased to flow. Granted their music is appealing to a limited audience these days, but there still is a large enough market to support them. They shall always remain my favorite band, and I will always be "True Blue". Thanks again!

The best location was Lakeland, the best background show was the lightning accompanying "Timothy Leary" in Tampa. Would love to see them at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center (next door to where I work). I'm still looking to replace my Graeme Edge albums which went with the ex!

Comments: I just started listening to The Moody Blues, and I am already hooked. I had never known how cool they were- but then last night I was- well- we'll just say floating, and I listened to them for the first time. It was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had... and I plan to listen to another one of their cd's for the first time ever- floating- again tonite! However- I do have two questions: are The Moody Blues still around, and where did they get their name?
