Comments: I went to see them at the Star Theater in Merrillville, Indiana on 2/3/00 and was very disappointed that they did not have the orchestra with them. I agree that the sound mixer did not do a very good job with the vocals, especially with John Lodge. (Either it was the mixing or he had laryngitis, because you could barely hear him.) Justin and Ray were much clearer. In any event, the music was superb as usual and I had a great time. Everybody keep the faith. (Ian, did you get your tickets for the Glasgow show yet?)

Comments: Went to the Moodies first concert of the millenium in Moline on 2/1- I missed having the orchestra behind them, and sound mix was a little rough on Justin's vocals at times-but what a fabulous, fantastic show. Ray's flute work on "Timothy Leary" worth the price of admission alone, and I was very glad that "Story in Your Eyes" was in show this time. Friend with me was at first Moody show of his life-he loved it-Do come back again soon guys-I'll keep coming to the show every time!!!!!

I have yet to fulfill my dream of seeing a concert and hope and pray that there will be a tour after England. Their music has changed my life for the better and I would love to write to other fans who love them as much as I do. Thank you for your wonderful way of connecting with other fans. Their "ST" CD is a favorite of mine along with all the others.

They are quite simply the "Best" Rock and Roll has to offer and for me they still are my favorite musical solace during times of intraspection. To know ultra violet infared and x-rays, beauty to find in so many ways. My lifes ambition is to one day meet the Moodies and thank them for the wonderful and unique musical gift they have given me and the world!

Comments: Hi Lisa and everone else who looks at this brilliant site. I have surfed through other sites and read the comments on the new album. OK there are differing viewpoints on the standard etc. Perhaps after so many years people expected something completely different. Well I for one was not one of them. The difference in Moody Blues music is that it simply gives us the "drug" that we need, or we would'nt buy and listen to it. Consider the film music of John Barry,John Williams,Maurice Jarre and Hans Zimmer,to name but four. Each has their own particular beautiful style and sound and they are identified by it. It is the same with the Moodies sound and long may it last. Love Ian.

Comments: Joyce, Ian and Moody Fans from all over! Happy Holidays! My mother (bless her heart) got me every Moody CD she could find for Christmas this year. (Of course, I had them all...but don't tell her! Now I have much needed duplicates!) Ian, about the Strange Times album cover. I find it to be quite peaceful and serene. It has the requisite swirling motion of a classic Moody Blues Cover, but there is something even more eternal and infinate about the ocean and sand...Anyway, I have begun designing a cross stitch pattern based on the Album cover. What a way to combine two hobbies! (And a physical manifestation of my obsession with the Band and their music) Have a great new year!

Comments: I have been a fan of the Moody Blues since I was seventeen, when a friend of mine brought the then new, Days of Future Passed, and said " You Have To listen to this" (yes that makes me 50 something). As I grew up it always seemed that the Moody's reflected my attitude about life. In retrospect I can't really tell if it was they that planted the seeds, or just cultivated what was already growing. In any case they have been a large part of my spiritual diet since that first hearing. I saw them for the first time last spring, as I have always shied away from concerts ( too many rowdy's). It was incredible .. I hope to see them again this February and I am sure it will be great. I have never met any of the group, and while nothing is ever a sure thing, I think we could be friends. If any of the band reads this .. Thank you for being a part of my Sojourn

I have just lent a work colleague "VFTH" and "Classic Blue". You can probably tell from my offering that the recipient is going through a difficult time. I have suggested that she listen to anything on "CB", especially "Tracks of my Tears" and definitely "Broken Dream" on the brilliant "VFTH". (Justin can always hit the mark that others can't reach). Is it not about time that the Moodies were recognised in the New Years Honours list?. Lisa and others "Keep the Faith" and "keep talking". Love Ian

Comments: This is as good a "Moodies" site as you can get, however, some people who have accessed the site would appear to have taken a considerable time to place an entry on the guestbook and I think it would be nice if people could at least acknowledge or respond more often to previous entries. I feel that this would create a deeper sense of closeness among MB fans now that the " Higher and Higher" site has become more difficult to use. Personally, I love the comments in the guestbook, "lets just talk a bit more". To Joyce, my apologies if this suggestion goes against the principals of your guest book. "Can't wait for April in Glasgow" Best regards to all Moody Blues fans. Is'nt "Foolish Love" just "Pure dead brilliant". Ian.

Comments: I enjoyed looking at your site and the photos of the Moodies. I am an avid fan of there's and just recently saw them again in concert on Sept. 16th recently and got very lucky again in getting to sit in the 6th row, dead center right in front of my favorite Moody, Justin. It was awsome as usual and a real treat to hear the first set from their new CD, Strange Times of which I am now a proud owner and just can't seem to get enough of it. It is glorious and I am a member of the fan club also. I have already sent the Moodies a letter of graditude for all they have done to enrich my life with their music and "keeping the faith alive". They have enspired me so much that I am blessed with the gift of being able to play their music on my 12 string guitar and sing their songs in a very special place close to where I live here in West Virginia, called the Digital Domain. Never before have I had the knowledge that I could even sing let alone have a place to do so until this wonderful place of music came along. I can't tell you how wonderful it is for me to be able to sing their songs for the people to hear who attend and I keep the audience up to date on the what the Moodies are doing right down to the release of their new CD. I have been singing Haunted and Foolish Love, and Strange Times from their new CD. I even wrote the Moodies all about this Digital Domain and how I have been singing their songs there. I just wanted to share this with you. If you want to get into the Digital Domain you type in www.wvatv.com and you can get into the archives and see the live performances that they put on the internet every Sat. night from 10pm to 11pm. They can only log on 250 on Sat. night. However, the archives there is no limit. I myself am not on the internet as I am not a professional and have not yet got into writing my own songs. My favorite artists who have performed at the DD are The Short Brothers, Joan and Keith Pitzer, Wild Carrot, Minstrel Paul and Cat, and Clay, so check it out if you like. Hope to hear from you sometime. Take Care, SIWL, Julie Collins

Comments: Hello to all my fellow Moody Blues fans. Just wanted to chime in on the new CD. My favorite cuts are "Foolish Love" (which appears to be the favorite of many other fans) and "Walkin' on Air." Overall, it's an excellent effort by the guys. I agree w/everyone else regarding the lack of promotion for the CD. That's a real shame because it is such a beautiful collection of songs; the harmonies and melodies are wonderful.) I didn't check their touring schedule early enough this year and missed an opportunity to see them in the Washington, D.C. area. Fortunately, my memories of the two shows I saw in Atlantic City during late March are still fresh in my mind. I'll never forget the experience. Everyone take good care. Love.

I didn't even think to get there earlier to see if I can get their autographs! Alittle more than 5 minutes later Justin and John pulled up (NOT a limo....like a small van!) I just finished reloading my camera and finding paper in my pocketbook - PERFECT timing! I got both their autographs and took about 10 pictures! I felt like a 16 year old...but kept my cool!! Standing so close, hearing them talk!! It was a dream come true!!! Their music is incredible!! To still be making albums 30+ years later - THEY are incredible!!!

Comments: Hi everyone. I have always loved Moody Blues album covers and the latest is no exception. Can anyone throw any light on the front cover. There is a globe, obviously Earth with a sort of snail shape around it. In the middle pages there is a metalic globe with a chunk out of the left side. There are various cog wheels and clocks throughout the CD cover which possibly symbolise the onward progress towards the Millennium. Does anyone have any other ideas, including the "house of the water sign" Graeme says that Nothing stays the same. In the most friendly way I would disagree, because The Moody Blues have continually "improved throughout the years" and "ST" is a great CD. Thanks Justin etc.

"ST" is still not available on general sale on the shelves in the main outlets, ie, HMV or Virgin, and I have heard no mention of it on the radio or seen any reviews in any of the main magazines. I think the band really need to look closely at finding new promotors. Heres looking forward to the Glasgow gig on 18 April 2000 and hopefully I will be able to meet the band again. Comments: Why aren't more radio stations playing cuts from the new album? That is such a good question. I asked my Boss why he won't allow us to play English Sunset, at least. His answer. Well, it's not quite right for our format. (We are classic hits...if it's not right for us...who would it be right for?) Yet, he wants to add album cuts from the latest Skynyrd effort. Although we play the "mess" out of the older Moody's hits, he hasn't touched the new album. Too "Pop" he says. I'm just as confused as fellow Moody fans. But I still slip in a cut or two when he's not listening! ;o)

Unfortunately, the Moodies haven't played in Toronto for years so it is nice to have access to the photos and comments from our American neighbours. I haven't even been able to attend at a US venue since the Detroit (Pinewood) concert in 1997 so thank you to all who send in pictures and comments about the Strange Times tour. In brief response to the query about the lack of air play for the new album, (which is wonderful!)perhaps we, the fans will just have to call the radio stations and put our requests directly to them. Seems about time the band's promoters took their job a little more seriously!

They inspired to make my own (instrumental) music with a couple of good dutch musicians. Very soon you all will hear me on the internet with the CD Amorta-the untold story. Till then

Comments: To Keane and everyone else out there. Can anyone find out the reason for the lack of; A)"promotion of" and B) "on the shelf" sale of "Strange Times" ?. We are being overdosed with everykind of "Spice", current and "X" members, together with a number of other vocal groups (male and female) that whisper through overamplified, overdone, middle of the road songs of similarity, none of the group members of which probably, have the ability to play an instrument. Something should be done, but I do not know how or what. The fan club say that it is the fault of the promoters. One thing is certain, the Moody Blues will outlive the current short lived musical ? crazes in the same way they have done since "Days of Future Past". NB. Isnt it good to hear the "Seventh Sojourn" sound coming back in "Its not too late" on "VFTH", viz, "When we look to new horizons" and also again in "The Swallow" on "ST", viz, "In the wide outside". If I ever want to feel better by listening to music, all I have to do is put on "Your Wildest Dreams" and before the end of the opening sequence the magic has worked again. Thanks again for everything.

Comments: Thanks so much for your web site! I just saw the Moodies play Oct 24 here in San Jose, and it was a mind-blowing experience!! I'm a younger fan (almost 23) so unfortunately I missed out on the peak of their career. But their music is timeless, and I will continue to dance to their music until I can dance no more and live by the philosophies of which they sing ( and maybe pass some on to others!) Give a little bit more Take a little bit less Peace

Comments: Great site, Joyce. The new album is beyond fantastic. I listen to it every morning and every afternoon to and from work. John's ballads are so heart wrenching. Saw the guys in Houston, on Oct 16th. What an experience. After all of these years, they sounded great; they looked great; they made my heart soar. Sigh. One day I hope to meet John, Justin, Ray and Graeme. You've gotta have dreams, don't you?

Comments: Ian, I don't know about Scotland, but here in greater Chicagoland, USA, none of the radio stations are giving any air time at all to "Strange Times". Even the so-called classic rock station in Chicago, WXCD, is not playing any of the new material from the CD, even though it plays the old stuff all the time. English Sunset, Foolish Love, and Walkin' on Air would all make the charts if they only got some air time. Must be back to the days of payola (either you pay us or we don't play you). Well, in any event, I guess we can just be selfish and listen to Strange Times in the privacy of our own homes. Later! P.S. The site looks better each time I visit, Joyce! Keep up the good work!

If so could someone send me the information on how to join, and send it to my e-mail. Thanks!!!

Comments: Greetings from Scotland. It is great to find such devotion to a rock band on the internet.I have a concern about the lack of promotion of Strange Times. It is still not on general sale in Scotland, and I would imagine that this is the picture for the rest of the UK. This is a disgrace. If it were the Bee Gees or Status Quo,we would all know about it. "Foolish Love" for me gives " That sound" most in the album , however "Walking on Air" comes close. "English Sunset" is a great song, (even coming from a Scotsman) and it could be a great chart hit in UK with a good video. Thanks to the band for giving us all such beautiful and significant music over the years. Looking forward to the Glasgow Concert on 18 April 2000. I was fortunate to meet Justin and John in Glasgow in 1996. Thanks for everything.

Comments: today is our anniversary. we played the moodies at our wedding. for a present to my husband i got tickets tosee them yesterday. i had seen them 2 years ago on their first stop on their world tour and they knocked me over they were so great. i thought about them for days after. last night it was well into their tour and they showed it. there was no energy and they seem unenthused. i was really sorry i had brought my husband because it spoiled his 26 year memory or them. i still love them though. just don't see them in concert halfway through their tour. they shouldn't be playing concerts every night. it really hurts the fans because i that night is special for us!

I paid $172 for two tickets to their show in LA next week and the seats aren't anywhere near as close to the stage as Joyce's. I paid $125 for 2 tickets in 1994 and I still needed binoculars! Count your blessings.
