I placed a message two days ago which seems to have gone astray. There was a programme on UK channel 4 on Sunday re the top ten progressive rock bands. The Moody Blues came third after Pink Floyd and Genesis and they were represented on the programme by Justin and John. Footage included the original KIWS and Red Rocks. Congratulations boys. Ian |

I always have to sit way in the back in row zzz seat 999. It would be a miricle if I were to sit that close. Also, have you ever met any of the Moodies? I've heard that Graeme Edge lives near me but I've never seen him. Well, I've gotta go. This is a cool sight, keep up the good work. :-) Jess |

A friend loaned me his Red Rocks video & I've been an addict ever since-buying every video & cd I can get my hands on. I have never seen them in person but I am hoping they will be somewhere in the area soon. I think it is obscene that they have not been inducted into the R&R hall of fame after all of those classics & all of those years. One of the marks of true greatness is the ability to withstand the test of time. Not only have they done that- they have also added fresh and exciting music to their long list of classics. Nice website--- I really enjoyed it!!! |

Igor and Marina Website: Referred by: Linked from another Moody Blues site From: Belarus Time: 2000-11-09 01:44:28 Comments:We are a young family from Belarus. We've been fond of MOODY BLUES works since early 80's when we first heard some their singles from the local radio. The Russian company "Melodia" released an album from MB in 1986 or so, but since we haven't found any MB albums here. The band is poorly known in this country, unfortunately. We've left no stone unturned trying to find our favourite bands CDs and records here. Everything in vain, they, as a rule, didn't even heard the name. We could try, of course, to order some albums on line, but it is impossible to do from this country. If there's someone who would be able to help us and record some CDs, please, e-mail. Igor and Marina. |

My interest in the Moody Blues came back in 1972 at a friend's house when they were playing Seventh Sojourn. I heard "You and Me" and that was it, they've been my favorite band since. Four words best describe my enjoyment of their music, melodic, emotional, rythmic, tasteful.... what can one say really the music speaks for itself. |

My second time and her first. It was absolutely fantastic (as expected)!! I saw them once before in 1994 and they are even better now! I introduced my wife to the Moodies 2 years ago and she loves their music as much as me. When I think of this band or see them, the only thing that comes to mind is a bottle of aged fine wine! They just get better as they get older and I think that this is absolutely phenomenal! The only one that showed his age a little bit last night was Ray, but his flute is still magical as it was in the days past. Thank you very much for providing all of the fans out there with this site! It shows true admiration and dedication for an excellent band (yesterday, today and forever)! Keep up the good work - Vasan & Roberta. |

Ian Website: Referred by: Linked from another Moody Blues site From: Scotland Time: 2000-10-23 18:05:28 Comments: Hi all from wet, cold Scotland. Just had to post a message to say the "Hall of Fame" CD is brilliant. In Glasgow we had "The Voice" to start the concert instead of the "Overture". I suppose it is a matter of choice as to which you prefer. (I know what mine is). Anyway, everything about the CD is good. The "English Sunset" live, in my opinion, is preferable to the "ST" version. Better bass, Justin's singing perhaps, but probably more importantly(from a Scotsmans point of view) (and probably fans from some other countries as well) is the omission of, the "ENGLAND" chant which, on the "Strange Times" CD sounds similar to the chant of an English football hooligan. (Hopefully, genuine England fans will not be offended). Lets hope that the video includes the whole of "Timothy Leary" and "For my Lady" and possibly "The Voice". Johns "Words You Say" is more meaningful after repeated listenings. The rest of the concert is standard reportoire. The "Moodies" are the best band in the world. Surely they will be inducted into "The Hall of Fame" in the near future. In any event,"Haste ye back" to Glasgow. Kindest Regards. Ian. |

It's nice to know that there are people out there more fanatical than I am. I discovered the Moodies back in 1981 when I was still at school and my friends were into the New Romantics and such like and thought I was weird! But I simply thought that Justin's voice had a unique quality which appealed to me. And that was it. I even converted my girlfriend (now wife) and we've seen them in concert on every UK tour since 1983 (and was even lucky enough to meet them in Edinburgh). We saw them at the Royal Albert Hall back in April and they were fantastic. It really made us appreciate the Strange Times album, as they do it even better live. We've even got our two year old daughter asking us to put on The Moody Blues! Another ticket to buy for the next tour I think...! |

A hundred years from now, people will still enjoy the complexity and beauty of this music. Watched the Moody Blues Concert on Public Television last week. Boy did it bring back memories -- they still have it. You know I do believe their music gets better and better, as I get older and wiser. The question I ask myself is -- just how did this group of early twenty-somethings manage to shoulder all that wisdom and create such poetry so early in life -- way way back in the 60's? |
