MOPPETS

MOPPETS provides childcare while moms enjoy the meetings. Every child will be nurtured in a loving environment. They will be encouraged to play in a group setting and learn to be independent of their mothers. Each child will be guided in positive experiences with fun age appropriate activities including lively Bible lessons, crafts, and games. A light snack is provided for the children.

Child care is offered for FREE to Moms attending the MOPS meeting.

We ask that you contact our Coordinator, Heather Gelety, at 772.342.2635 or at flgirl1031@aol.com before your first meeting so that she can prepare a place for your child(ren).

Guidelines

Below are guidelines to help you and your child have a wonderful experience in MOPPETS...

Sick Child Guidelines

For your protection of your child, the other children and the teachers, we request that you do not bring a child who is ill to MOPPETS. Upon recommendation of the Committee on Control of Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics, that means when any of the following exists:

  • Fever (currently or within the last 24 hours)
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Any symptoms of a childhood disease (scarlet fever, German-Measles, mumps, chicken pox, whooping cough)
  • Common cold
  • Runny nose with yellow or green mucous
  • Sore throat
  • Croup
  • Any unexplained rashes
  • Skin infection (boils, ringworm, impetigo)
  • Pink eye or other eye infections

Babies

As a safety issue, we request that only babies who are not yet walking be allowed in the meeting room. Older babies are more active and there are too many hazards, such as cups of coffee, hot glue guns, etc.

As a courtesy to our speakers, we ask that moms with babies that become disruptive, please take them out of the meeting room until the child has settled down.

MOPPETS Volunteers

Please keep in mind tha tour MOPPETS workers are volunteers. They are caring Christians providing loving, quality care to your children during your MOPS meetings. Please let them know how much you appreciate them and that they have helped make a difference. Without these big-hearted individuals we would not have MOPS. They know that mothering matters and that we are all striving to be the best mothers we can.

Our MOPPETS workers are planning lessons in advance for your child(ren). If you will not be able to attend a meeting with your child(ren), please contact Deborah Girling at 772.489.2910 by 8:00 a.m. the morning of the meeting. This will help to ensure that we always have appropriate child care for each child.

Mom's to Rotate in MOPPETS

MOPS moms might be asked to help with child care during the meetings throughout the year if needed. Our goal is to not ask you, but if we do, only once during the year. We encourage moms to help us find more volunteers for MOPS, so that our moms can attend all the meetings all year.

Home-Schooled Children

Home-schooled children are welcome to come to MOPS as long as they have "busy work" to keep them content in one of the MOPPETS classrooms.
