Ve Magni | A capella Norwegian
Ve Magni is an artist and performer from Los Angeles fascinated by language
and how prescribed meaning shapes identity. The
Poet Valkyrie music project is an exploration of the Norse and their
battle to honor themselves and their souls, how the poesy and construction
of their language contributed (and still contributes) to their fighting
identity, and vice versa. The music selected is a combination of traditional
and contemporary music, sung a cappella in common Norwegian (Bokmål),
the western dialect (Bergense), and some Swedish, with themes of existential
struggle with and resistance to love, God, and personal identity.
