Hunting Run is a local waterway in the north western corner of Spotsylvania County in Central Virginia. It is a tributary of the Rapidan River and has its mouth near the confluence of the Rapidan and Rapahannock Rivers. Chancellorsville, a very important US Civil War battle site, is nearby.

This website provides information about our family life near Hunting Run Reservoir, the two rivers, Chancellorsville and the Fredericksburg, VA area.

Mike & Diane: Mike & Diane met in a Yahoo chat room in October 1999.  Both were working in the Sacramento, CA area. They dated for a couple of years and then married in May, 2001.  They moved to Virginia in 2007.

Mike retired in 2011 after 34 years with the US Department of Agriculture.  He is a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and held a Quality Auditor (CQA) certification while working.  He now works around house on various projects and is the Treasurer of the local Homeowners Association.

Diane is a Payroll Manager working in Washington, DC.  She is a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) through the American Payroll Association.  She has also achieved a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Society for Human Resources Management.

Diane & Mike enjoy many hobbies and pastimes.  Working in the garden during the spring and fall is fun and therapeutic.  They like to kayak, camp, work with the dogs, cook, attend wine tasting events and sit by the fireplace in the cold of winter.
