Unless prior arrangements are made, all shipping is via USPS domestic Priority Mail or Priority Mail International. We charge actual postage only. After shipment, we refund any excess postage paid. You will be invoiced for additional postage if the amount paid is insufficient to cover actual postage after your purchases are packed and weighed.

Battery boxes are handmade from new 1/8" cardboard. Labels are printed on Epson Ultra Premium Presentation paper with an Epson 2200 printer and Ultrachrome inks having a fade resistance of 60+ years.

Type AA boxes are for building working batteries using 9v or AA cells and D cells. Type AB box is a replacement for the plain box that ships with Jim Poitivient's Abbattery power supply. Boxes measure 14" long x 4-1/2" wide x 2-1/2" high. They are about one inch longer than the prototype boxes to allow room for battery holders. Slight variations in appearance and dimensions may occur as these are handmade items.

Z-1 battery and the Z-985 type connector are made with PCV plastic. Allow two or three days for construction after placing order.

Reproduction items are provided at nominal cost for the personal use of collectors of vintage radios. Suitable for use in all Zenith Trans-Oceanics and other portable radios using compatible batteries

Replica battery boxes for all tube Zenith Trans-Oceanics and other vintage radios using the Zenith Z-985 or compatible battery, such as the Eveready 752 or RCA VS-047. These batteries, called A-B batteries because they provided dual voltage output for the B circuitry (tube plates) and A circuitry (tube filaments), were used in all tube Zenith Trans-Oceanics and provided 90 volts DC for the plate voltage and 9 volts DC for the filament voltage. Any of the Type AA or Type AB boxes below can be used in your tube Zenith Trans-Oceanic. Purchase is for the replica box only. You must build your own battery to fit in the box or use a power pack such as Jim Poitivient's "abbattery." You can contact Jim at abbattery@aol.com.

Vintage working replica 1.5 volt Zenith Z-1 battery

Used in the 8G005 and 600 series radios, comes with replaceable C cell. The 1.5v Z-1 battery augmented the 9v A supply to the tube filaments in the 8G005; in the 600 series, the Z-1 powers the dial light circuit. Not used in G500 or H500 models.
