Historic

Morwenna Westerne was born into a noble family in Cornwall. She's has always though it terribly unfair that she was given a traditional Cornish name while her younger sister was graced with the perfectly ordinary name of Emma.

At a young age Morwenna was sent to London for education and an introduction to court life. She has remained as a lady in waiting to Queen Elizabeth and watches out for her family's political and business interests. She spends her time, when not in attendance to Her Majesty, concocting sweets in her stillroom, translating racy Latin poetry, and working embroidery, as well as keeping a watchful eye on the account books.

She is currently being courted by the Boyar Aleksandr Ruslanovich, who is part of Ivan IV's embassy from Russia. Due to religious and geographical differences, not to mention the difficulty of obtaining permission from a cranky Queen and insane Tsar, it is likely that marriage is not an option anytime soon.

Society

Morwenna first joined the Society in A.S. XXIII at the Borough of Fenmere in the Barony of Carolingia. She did spend two years in the Barony of the Bridge while attending school.

Although improper for a well-brought up Elizabethan lady, she enjoys acting and has participated in 4 Shakespeare plays (Twelfth Night, The Tempest, The Taming of the Shrew and A Midsummer's Night Dream) as well as many shows with I Sebastiani (The Greatest Commedia dell'Arte Troupe in the Entire World). More fittingly to her station, she does all sorts of needlework, cooks and translates Latin poetry.

Morwenna is a Companion of the Order of the Laurel. She also is a Companion of the Manche, the Moon, the Daystar, and the King's Order of Excellence. She has twice served as Royal Bardic Champion of the East, once to the King and once to the Queen.

Her arms are: Ermine, a mermaid in her vanity proper, crined or, between three cinqufoils purpure. Her token is a pewter oval with a mermaid in her vanity on the front and her MW cypher on the back.
