INDIE FEATURE FILM "FUNNY VALENTINE"
ANNOUNCES INTERNATIONAL PREMIERE
AT ISRAELI FILM FESTIVAL
April 24-28, 2005

New York, NY - Souvenir Pictures announced today that the feature film "Funny Valentine", a new romantic comedy starring Anthony Michael Hall, has been selected for screening at the 2005 Ashdod Film Festival in Israel.

Held during the Jewish high holiday of Passover, the five-day festival hosts a multitude of indoor and outdoor screenings, street bazaars, panels and discussions by filmmakers and academy members and features an international juried competition, awarding best film, director, actor and actress and photographer.

Funny Valentine made its American debut at the Sarasota Film Festival in February 2005, playing to sold-out crowds and commanding rave reviews from audience and press alike. Viewers young and old found the film "sweet, fun and uplifting", and ABC Television called Funny Valentine "a funny, funny film," praising Michael Hall and Marlo Marron's performance.

The film, a fun and uplifting tale about staying true to yourself and your dreams, is the directorial film debut of Jeff Oppenheim. The film was edited by industry veteran Robert Reitano ("Sleepless in Seattle", "The Bachelor"); executive produced by Lloyd Chrein and Griffin VanMeter and produced by Leo Leichter, Lloyd Chrein, D. Brewse Monier-Williams, Tamara Trexler, Wesley H. Motley III, and Anthony Michael Hall.

Writer/director Jeff Oppenheim stated, "We are thrilled and honored to be making our international debut at this inaugural festival." The beautiful Mediterranean coastline of Ashdod makes for a truly romantic setting for this premiere of "Funny Valentine".
