St. Ann with young Mary. The design with sunburst is taken from the figure as seen in the basilica of St Anne de Beaupre in Canada. The figure is 30" high and painted to closely match the design and colors the original. Wood used is basswood. The smaller figure of Mary was carved separately and attatched. The gold is gold leaf paint.
This Madonna is Our Lady of the Cedars of Lebanon. Acrylic paints and stains on laminated basswood. Gold leaf trim. Cedar cone broach is the distinguishing feature.
This carousel horse is a half size Denzel stander with a 
"Cerni" design. It stands 30" high and is made of Eastern white cedar. It is painted with acrylics and currently is fitted with a brass pole and has an oak floor base.
The Indian maiden seen here is named Katerie Tekakwitha. The figure stands 5' 3" on a four inch base. Acrylic paints of various colors on laminated basswood with a flat varnish gives it a more realistic look.
A rugged pine cross holds a corpus made of basswood. The finish is achieved by sealing the bare finish of the wood with a white glue sizing, a coat of flat varnish and a final finish of a glaze to highlight undercuts and shading.

Mother Marie Leonie is a nun who founded an order of sisters in Canada. The figure is made mostly of laminated basswood. The thin white pieces of garment are made of 1/8 inch Italian poplar plywood. The black of the robe is achieved by a charcoal stain with a finish of flat varnish.
St. Margaret, queen of Scotland is a figure, 3 feet high. It is maded of laminate basswood, painted with acrylics and trimmed with gold leaf.

My chief stands over six feet high. He is painted with the colors of a plains Indian. His headdress is typical of a Souix tribe.

The Sacred Heart is a figure of Jesus done in high relief. It is about 48" high and is done with woodtone stains and varnished.
Sharbel is a middle eastern monk.
The carving is four feet high.
It is stained charcoal color and varnished.
This St. Joseph was carved out of a Eastern White Cedar log. stained and varnished with exterior finishes to be used as a garden figure.
This is a carving of St. Martha. Done in Basswood, she stands 48" high and is finished with woodtone stains. The figure is in St. Martha Church, Kennebunk, ME
Carving with a chain saw is a lot of fun. Bear cubs are especially nice to do. Paul has done a few based on the style of Justin Gordon, of Groveland,MA  who specializes in this typeof carving.
This is a figure of Our Lady of Waisingham,  the Chinese Madonna. The figure is 12" high. Madonna and Child were carved out of one solid piece of basswood, stained and varnished.
This carving of Our Lady of LaSalette is a copy of the original  in France and also at the shrine in Attleboro, MA. This figure is eighteen inches high, carved from laminated basswood, sealed and varnished
This carving of Saint Peregrine, patron saint of cancer victims is on display at the Shrine of Saint Joseph the Worker in Lowell, Massachusetts.

The Blessed Mother and Sacred Heart of Jesus, 24 inches high on display at Sacred Heart Church Lowell, Massachusetts.
