I traveled back across the Atlantic Ocean and visited my birthplace, Smithville, NJ. I spent the day paddle boating, taking a train ride, and even got to sit on a stagecoach. There was a sign that said "Do not feed the water fowl", so I flew over to Absecon and ate at Goodfellows.
While in Absecon, I went to see the 3rd tallest lighthouse in the USA. You can see in my picture that I needed a rest climbing the steps, but I did make it to the top. I literally had a bird's eye view of the ocean and city. It was ducktacular!
I had spent the evening before playing poker to warm up for the tables in Atlantic City. If I had my picture taken inside the casino, I would of been a jail bird, so I just had one taken on the steps of the Taj Mahal.
Everybody knows that elephants are scared of small squeaky animals. Fortunately, I don't squeak, I quack! I ducked in to visit Lucy at her home in Margate, took her tour and got some more pictures for my scrapbook.
In Wildwood, after a relaxing stroll down to see the largest beach in NJ, I headed over to the amusement pier. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves on the rides so I thought I'd give some a try. The teacup ride was fun and I was excited about trying out the bumper cars. My turn arrived to get my car, but after I got all belted in, I thought "Oh flock. I'm a dead duck!". I'm only a little duck and I couldn't see over the steering wheel to drive!
I thought some less adventurous amusement was in order, so I tried out a few miniature golf courses. Congo Falls in Ocean City had 3 indoor/outdoor courses. I played 2 of them, and then headed to another course in Berlin. There was a hole with a castle and it reminded me of my home in England. Then it was on to Stratford to go bowling at La Martinique Bowling Center. I stuggled to get even the lightest ball I could find off the ground, but I was able to use those special ramps they have to just push the ball down.
