This was an exciting day for me - Philaduckydelphia! They have something called "Ride the Ducks" and I'm really looking forward to that!
Anyway, phfirst off, I went to see Independence Hall and had a nibble on some of the grass in the park there to get some energy for the day ahead. Just near there was the building that housed the Liberty Bell, and they let me in to see it! There were lots of big pictures of the bell in its previous places and x-rays of the huge crack in it. I waddled around Historic City and took in the sights, then it was time to stop horsing around and get over to the duckmobile.
It was time for "Ride the Ducks". It was a tour bus that would drive you around the city and then sploosh into the water. It took you down the river and back too, telling you all about the various historical sites along the way. It was a lot of fun to be a duck riding on a duck. I think the ducks on the river were jealous of me too. Everyone on the bus was given a "Quacker" that made an approximate duck sound when you blew into it. Being a duck, I didn't need one! It was a fun tour. There was so much more to see in this city, time flew by so fast we had to call it a day.
I came back again a few days later to see more of the city. We waddled around the Historical City and saw a few things that we didn't get on the duck tour. Stopped in the old Wanamakers and met up with Iggle the Eagle. We even visited the Church that featured in that scary Bruce Willis movie, The Sixth Sense.
We went to get some lunch at Pat's Steaks. The instructions on ordering were very specific, but I just quacked at them until they gave me what I wanted. The food was great, but we were still hungry and there was a fantastic cake store a few minutes walk away. The choice was just incredible. Then it was off to burn off the calories from the treats, Rocky style!
No visit to this city can go by without a visit to the Art Museum. I climbed the steps just like Rocky did. I even got to stand in his footprints! The view down the Ben Franklin Parkway was impressive, and watching the other tourist do the "Rocky" poses for their friends' photos was entertaining. Another day was drawing to a close and I was glad I was able to make the return trip to the city.
