Todd Rundgren tour dates:

This list is still under construction and is far from complete.

Most recent updates:
August 12, 2007: "I had plans so big...." Once again, my intention of doing more frequent updates to this site did not turn into reality. But I'm back now with several updates. Most noteable ones include another show from the elusive summer 1983 Utopia tour in Illinois (thanks Skibone!) and awhole bunch of dates from the 1985 POV tour that came from a Rolling Stone itinerary that was kindly provided to me by Mervyn Schipke. Additional thanks for the information on this round of updates go out to Danstyk, Jim Crane, Jeff 'Weavil' Gauss, Mitch, Steve, Joann Lehmer, Anthony Mortimore, Chris Reagan, Jim McCormick, Becky Chavarria-Chairez, Jan Dahle, Manos and Cal.
August 6, 2006: Once again, my life has been consumed with work and school which explains why this site hasn't been updated for the last eight months. Anyway, I'm back with lots of updates. I've found a whole bunch of attendance figures for the fall 1985 tour. Also, trips that I've taken to Tucson, Denver and Boston this year have allowed me to do research in public libraries where I've turned up lots of new information for shows in those cities, Boston in particular. In addition, more information has come in from some great fans. Thanks to Mike Muckenthaler, Jon Clarke, Mike B, TF Spindler, Benjamin Agostino, Lin Sprague, Karl Speck, Cynth (poet warrior), Steve Sanford, Steve, Jerry Noonan, Adam Barkow, Sue W and Blaise Morris, all of who have sent me concert information that I didn't have. Thanks again everyone, every little bit helps!
January 3, 2006: More updates from members of the TR Connection Forums. GraceSusan let me know about Utopia shows in Saratoga Springs in 1972 & 1980. J-Roo sent me detailed information about Todd's San Francisco area benefit performances of 1992 & 1996. Z-Man informs us that Cheap Trick warmed up for Utopia in 1977 out on Long Island. And Jeff House let me know about an interesting promotional tie in with the GAP stores for a 1984 show in Illinois. Thanks everyone for the info!
January 1, 2006: Well, reactivating the site has gotten a whole lot of more info sent my way. Wendy Carson sent me info on several Texas shows as far back as 1975. And TR Connection Forums members Paulguitar, Veggiegurl, SistahT and Mojorisen have given me some additional info as well. Thanks to all of you! In addition, I've found seven more shows from 1983-1987 in the Pollstar archives which have now been added.
December 31, 2005:
I'm back! The last four months have been very hectic for me between work & school. Many Todd fans sent me info which I did not have the time to add to the site. Well finally I've gotten around to it. Hopefully future updates will come in a more timely fashion. The following Todd fans have contributed to the latest round of information:
Dave Kingston, Paul, Karl Speck, David Peters, Tim Stanton, Bob Panuska, Kenny, Don Bergenty, Thom Hunt, Chris Williams, Mike M., Paul R. Stringer, Rod George, Frank T, Mark B., Dave Balme, Andreas Reuter, Michael Partington and Steve Rutherford.
June 29, 2005: Added more 1982 Utopia dates.
June 28, 2005: Found more 1982 & 1983 Utopia dates. Plus Rich Nieciecki sent info of a Todd show from February 1994.
June 27, 2005: Found more 1984 & 1985 Utopia dates. Plus Karl Speck found a Todd show from 12/4/73!

This listing is an attempt to collect all known concert performances by Todd Rundgren. The data is derived from several different sources. Please keep in mind that when researching this data, I have in many places come across conflicting data, especially when looking for performances from the 1970s. Not all dates may be correct. Advance tour itineraries in pulications such as Circular, Circus and Rolling Stone have often been found to be incorrect. But when no other concrete information is available, I have included the information from these publications.

Very special thanks to Karl Speck who has provided me with an enormous amount of information. Special thanks to Frank Bubnick, whose tape archive has provided a wealth of information and to my good friend Beth Barber for providing me with many early dates I did not have. Also to Roger Linder's Todd Rundgren Connection web site for providing much of the information from the last decade. Thanks to Jeffrey Martin for all the stubs from Indiana. And of course to Billy James' wonderful book A Dream Goes on Forever: The Continuing Story of Todd Rundgren. This book is a must read for all Todd fans. You can order a copy directly from the publisher. Lastly, thanks to all the Todd fans (too many to mention) who have contacted me and provided me with missing dates. You've all been a tremendous help filling in the gaps!

My latest project with this page is to start documenting where the info for each of these dates came from (if I was smart, I would have done this from the beginning!) I will be using a color coding system as follows:
Information provided from research done by Karl Speck
Information from first hand fan attendance of a show
Concert attended by the webmaster ("Is it all just my vanity?")
Ticket stub
Concert released on official CD, album or video
Newspaper/magazine review of concert
Newspaper/magazine advertisement
Listing in Utopia Times (Thanks to Beth Barber for providing these!)
Concert report found in Performance magazine. (Thanks to Mr. Random for providing these!)
Concert report found in Pollstar. (Copyright by Pollstar.)
Special thanks to Jan at the Fleetwood Mac Legacy site for pointing out Pollstar to me.
Tour itinerary found in Rolling Stone magazine
Tour itinerary found in Circus magazine
Tour itinerary found in Circular magazine
Dates in more than one color indicate multiple sources
Dates with a strike through them are ones in which info from one of the above sources was found to be incorrect or show is known to have been cancelled
Dates in italics are ones which no local documentation can be found to support info from one of the above sources

Were you at a Todd concert that you don't see listed here? E-mail me and I'll add it to the list!

The World Series of Rock. Fleetwood Mac headlined. The bill also included Bob Welch, Eddie Money and The Cars. Attendance: 75,000. Todd was the second act to play (at 4:30 PM) so that he could catch a plane to Chicago for that night's performances at Park West. This show was originally scheduled for August 5, but had to be rescheduled due to Lindsey Buckingham being ill. Todd had not been scheduled to play on the original date but was added to the bill after the J. Geils Band could not make the rescheduled date.
