Megadeth

New DM map released !
I called it Megadeth because I was listening to the band "Megadeth" almost the whole time I was creating it. ;)
It's a medium size map, sort of a arena/castle type of layout, and (very red in color).
Should be fun for 2 but large enough for up to 8 players..

"So whatta waiting for? Host it up and have fun!"
Enjoy Megadeth Deathmatch !

I plan on mirroring this map sometime also for CTF. ;)

Crypt of Madness

Hey I released Another New DM level, called it, Crypt of Madness.
This one has a symmetrical layout something like the Paradox dm map I made a few years back and turned it into a CTF map.
Crypt of Madness has the same potential for CTF as well so I'll probably do that later on. As is though It's setup to be a fast paced DM suited for 2-4 players but roomy enough for more.

Happy Halloween !
And enjoy deathmatching in the Crypt of Madness..

O' Skual

That's right, I finally got around to releasing a new DM level for DooM2, decided to call it "O' Skual" because of the way it flows and the way it looks, it just works, so the name stuck. :P
A small 2 player DM layout is what I was focusing on in this map, it's flow basically molded the map once I started on the outside area with the little cliffs and stuff. Once I had things in place, I played a bot match with 4 including me. Before I knew it, it was a 200+ frag game :-)
I'v sent it to my brother for playtest, and it does need play-tested more. so if you have some feedback, let me know. Plz.
Oh btw, this map should play fine on any sourceport, that at least supports an extended vis-plane, even though it's not an overly detailed map.. ;).
Download

Also I probably should have mentioned this earlier but the guys at Zdaemon got around to reviewing one of my dm levels "Paradox" and I didn't notice till a few months later after I got back from being out of town a few months ago WAH? :D
Anyways you can get the review here. :) Thanks Zdaemon guys!

"id Tech5" is the new big thing people!

Woah! just a second.. That doesn't mean we'l need a six cylinder-Core 3 CPU to run it, does it?!? well.. does it?
This thing looks like a freak'n movie!
Anyways, the name of this amazing looking game is RAGE, and is both 3d shooter and race game.
I'll post up more about it I'm sure. - there's also some vid's of the editor in the making.

Site updatith !

Yes after a really long delay I finally got around to updating this freaking site a bit, more to come. There won't be anything to download / maps for a few weeks yet so keep your pants on.
In other news, Legacy2 is looking to be something the Doom commun hasn't seen since Doom3 with it's spiffy new everything including 4 player splitscreen and the almost freakish user preferance for textures and info lumps, head on over to the Legacy wiki and forum for more info.
Neat stuff, keep up the awesome work Legacy team!

On the 35th day of Christmas the Doom community gavith to me !

Hey there's a new Skulltag version out in case you haven't noticed :D
All you need is your Doom or Doom2 IWAD to recover from that DM craving, well at least since the last time you played some classic Doom DM stuff. As all Sourceport engines are different, Skulltag comes packed with a ton of mods and maps of it's own, namely CTF, LMS, Team DM, Dual, Buckshot, Invasion, blah to many to list :| also is packaged with IDE, "Internet Doom Explorer" server scanner. so yeah all you need is your Doom2 Iwad handy, Install ST, run IDE and your set. did I mention Opengl, um yeah hardware Opengl rendering too :D So head on over to Skulltag.com and download the latest installer version!

WahLaaH !

My map04 (Infestations) for the NDCP2 is pretty much done.Just need to tweak a few things first before sending the final release.

Here's some shots:

Also, I'v sorta been checkin out some Legacy2 stuffs. The engine, even though being in (alpha faze) manages to support a handful of features already, namely hi-res textures, sprites and all the 3d floor goodies. Which says a lot considering it displays these things in software hi-res video modes already. As in 1600x1300.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is an alpha version!. drools..

Here's a DM map I started on for fun:

Oh yeah, and I changed the look of my site again :P

Super computer game newz!!*3

You heard rite! most people would rather be gellin. But if your like me and never think of gellin, then bestest guess points to no! not gellin.LoL, Google's fun. To make things even more fun, I'm gonna make like you want me to answer these questions as fast as I possibly can just becauseIdon'twanttodoalotoftyping right now, thatand causewell I said so,sothere!. andthat'sa promise..soheregoes! HAHA@you! ..um Anyways, around this time last year when I first decided to actually start posting some sorta news on my site, I had this Super computer news thing going on which tells us about new games being worked on with possible sneak peeks. Well now it's demo time about some of these games.Pray 3d shooter demo has been released, so make sure to check that out. I got my demo copy at filefront. The game utilizes the doom3 engine and Omg does it look sweet. You'l find yourself really walking on walls in this one. also includes multiprayer dm maps. Heh cool, I might have to get this. Next we have well, Unreal Tournament 2007. This is still looking neat. There isn't a demo out for it yet but it probably wont be long now?.. More info of The Unreal 3 engine can be found here. Hey I'm making this as fast right? Lastly we have Enemy Territory Quake Wars. Very anticipated game, I'v always liked everything about wolf ET and I'm sure the new ETQW will live up to it. Just like before, Splash Damage utilizing iD Software's technology. Which turns out, that's something that they're pretty good at. No demo out yet, but I'm almost positive we wont have to wait as long as we did last year. Info here. That's all for now, see ya.. oh yeah and, I saved you enough time to check out that pray demo. yay!

Happy belated Independence day. :)

Big O' update

Well sorta. A few weeks ago I got around to finishing that Q3 re-remake and uploaded it to FileFront for public download..yeah some people may raise a big stink over the location if they are from the other side of the world, but hay you can download it, so.. you bestest get on it ! ;)

It's made for Gzdoom and requires Opengl and your Doom2.wad to play it. Have a go in multiplayer, that's what the map was made for also. :)

The NDCP has been released as well a few weeks ago, you can get it here.

The team has done some updates and fixes to the Mega wad, so make sure to get the latest if you haven't already ;)

* A couple days after I released the Q3 remake map for Doom, I thought I'd have a go with some good old fashioned Vanilla Doom editing, at that a single player + co-op wad, which doesn't sound like me.. Of course you know I'v always made DM maps. I thought I'd give it a shot. With in a late nights time I ended up with basically it's whole layout while putting in alot of thought about how things will work/look and change as the player progresses through the map. It seemed pretty cool so far.. Then like a day after I started on it, PumpkinSmasher announced that there is to be a NDCP part II?, I figured, hey what timing! So I joined the NewDoom Community project for it's version 2 of it's Mega wad series, NDCP2.

Check the project site for more info on that :)

* Lastly we have a new game launcher/chat/front-end called the Player Connector.

Well not real new, it's based on DC ~ also once was known as the Legacy connector, Doom connector1, 2 and 3, Skulltag Online and is know the Player Connector. However it supports many more games and many gamming communities. It's Open source Development? seems to just keep getting better and better. It supports lots of games, not only Doom and Doom3 games, it has support for the Quakes, Unreal, Wolf et, and many more. So jump over to the Player Connector site and take a look. And make sure to click on the download button not long after you get there :) Big thanks goes out to the Player Connector staff for hosting this program for us!

Stuff and What have yee!

I decided to remove the frame pages crap from my site in hopes to have a better view of it from a lower res, for those of you that for some reason have to run at 800x600 heh, Are you happy now? well are ya - punk? Anyways, this should help with google search queries as well, hopefully to keep the search engine from reporting less of the multiple pages pertaining to the Megasphere. In other news, I have started updating the Q3-remake map I made for Doom Legacy a few years back for a newer sourceport called Gzdoom. Gzdoom not only supports the usual 3dfloors from Legacy it also has Zdoom extensions in one sourceport, something like Zdoomgl or Vavoom, so yeah legacy type 3dfloors, Zdoomgl type slopes, lighting and Vavoom type of skyboxes. For more info on the re-creation of the map wad, you can get the scoop on it here.Because of lack of time plus having to pretty much completely rebuild the map, development is slow. but once it's finished I cango ahead and get back to work on three other maps in store for three other game engines. :) Anyways, enough about my crap, lets now take a peek at the NDCP megawad soon to be released by a number of very good wad authors! The mega wad has been in development off and on for a few years now, so we should be expecting something pretty nice to say the least. It's a limit removing 32 level vanilla coated single play mega made by a lot of the map makers if you didnt already know over at NewDoom.com. For more info on the New Doom Community Project, and it's release date, click your mouse pointer here. This should be a pretty fun wad for anyone, so make sure to check it out ! And btw, Merry Christmas ! :)

Megasphere gets new shoes!!

After receiving an e-mail from Adam Pedersen -AKA founder/sysop of the Megasphere BBS back when DooM was DooM and your computer would need upgrading to play it, a few days ago I decided to give this old website a facelift of sorts after a long over due yet inspiring convo with him. First I decided I will remove my name from the logo, change the site's color theme to sorta match where the Megasphere BBS woulda left off, we decided that the theme of Mega2 would be fitting. Adam also sent me several screenshots of the Megasphere BBS which brought back some good memories, good stuff. Not only some shots but also an avi video of the old BBS Television ad. View it here , the ad was also broadcasted on Mtv back then. heh lunch meat ;) Inspired enough?, me too.. so here it is! The new and improved Megasphere website! While in the process of cleaning the slate (needed web space) I also decided that the Megasphere needs a better way of communication to resemble the way of the Megasphere BBS back in the day.. I settled upon a chat program by the GCN -Global Communications Network team. Not only did this seem to be a cool chat program for the Megasphere that supports the usual chat, it also has voice, video, file transfer, web browser, and games. For more info on the Megasphere chat, check the Services link in the navigation menu or click here to go there directly.

Oh btw, Happy Thanksgiving !

Map progressions

Here's a few shots of a Doom III map and an Wolf ET map I'v started on over the past few mounths. For more info on the projects, check the forum as progress progresses on the 2 maps. Here's those shots I was yapp'n about :)

Doom III stuff ....................Wolf ET stuff..

On the back burner

Skulltag map I started on awhile back is on hold. The map is a fast paced DM for all the skull taggers out there, you know who you are. However the release of it will be delayed until our clan, mapping team Orb get back togethor on it's development. If it turns out that we decide to not make the mini mega dm wad set out to do, then there may be some new dm wads leerking about some of the more majorly-known-awesome-Doom-sites for download in the near future or something. :)This will be the midi music in the wad until further notice heh.More to come..

Just a reminder

Hey now folks don't forget to check out some of the wads I have hosted on my Doom page..Yes from ol school to new school the Megasphere has enough to satisfy that Dm appetite.. so make sure to eat your veggies when you get done soppin up all that carnage. ;) :Oh yeah, a little impaled human shaped birdy told me that the over clocked remix site has had an update..So head on over to http://doom.ocremix.org/ and take a listen! - of course you can do that while you browse my Doom page :P

Doom Legacy Alpha3 update

That's right, in just a little over a month the Legacy team released a new alpha3 version! This has to be a record or something..Head on over here to get the scoop on Legacy alpha3.

Doom Legacy Alpha2 update

Yep its been awhile since the last alpha release, actually a little over a year. Its hard to tell what's been updated and what hasn't if you haven't been keeping an eye on its progress. For those of you that may not know, the Doom Legacy source port has been re-written in C++ and now supports Hexen among many additional editing features, not only its usual 3d features and Fragglescripts, it now supports ACS scripts known of in Hexen, and Zdoom's Hexen support. Now kids, this isn't any type of full blown version, its an Alpha not even a beta yet and is a bit buggy and somewhat not purely stable yet. The Opengl render isn't done, there is no music and alot of things wont seem to be working just right, however alot of things have been updated and are working, and I've noticed many fixes so far since the last Alpha release. The release notice can be found here, and if interested its progress status can be found here. Smite-meister, currently one of the main coders for DoomLegacy says the netcode is in the works among many other things, I guess that's one of the main thing he's focusing on right now anyway, other than waiting for bug feedback. In other news the opengl render might be awhile. If you haven't heard, Hurdler also known as "the render guy", got a job at ubisoft but says he will try and do what he can on legacy's render when he can, when he's not making BoKoo bucks with the ubisoft development team. Hurdler we need our render! :P

more to come.

Super computer game newz!!*2

Something I forgot to mention the other day in my so-called "super game news" was, Unreal Tournament 2007 and Prey previews. There's no official release dates on these 2 games yet but the shots and trailers are lookin pretty sweet. If interested pop over and take a look here for Unreal Tournament 2007 stuff by Epic and here for an E3 in-game trailer of Prey by 3D Realms, which is another that really caught my eye. Remember how I was saying alot of games are starting to look more and more like Doom3?, well take a look at this. Although the Prey video is a 177mb download its well worth it for an 11 minute movie. Or you can just take a look at the low-res version whilst at Filefront. *note FireFox may not support this type of in browser movie stream. That's all for now, Happy Drooling :)

Ow my ears What Dechooo say?

! If you play drums, eat Chinese food and play Doom. Then the Zildjian Oriental Crash of Doom is the sound you've been looking for! The ring of it spells hell and horror while the crisp mid-tone leaves traces of tech style vibes. I don't personally own this cymbal but everything about it sounds good to me so far. cough.

Super computer game newz!!1

Yeah ok, seems how we all just updated our PC's for Doom3, it looks like we might need a little more updating before its all said and done. Nevar! ok well maybe a little. My guess no less than a 1.7ghz cpu 512megs of performance memory and a geforce 6800gt-ish or competitor video card. The new gen games coming out within the next year or two, this time will be something a little more than just mind blowing. It seems that since Doom3/id's technology, more game companies have started making more stuff like that, like Doom3. Of course the new unreleased Quake4, Q4 and Enemy Territory - Quakewars by id, Raven and Splash Damage goes without saying. But there's others like the new Battle Field 2 by EA games which is coming out in like a month' and Serious Sam 2? by Croteam amongst many others. It looks like by the weight of them we might be needing more beef in our PC's like the old lady said in that old Wendy's commercial.. Wendy's? Mmmm..Wendy's. Anyways yeah speaking of new games, If you like the mid-evil type 3d shooters, heres one I was taking a look at by Project offset which happens to have just launched a new site. Shacknews is where I found out about all that. Check out the movie preview of it whilth I holdith my toung until I go geth somethingeh teh eat. :P
