PUT THE GLASS DOWN Stress & Burdens
A lecturer was giving a lecture to his student on stress management.
He raised a glass of water and asked the audience, “How heavy do you
think this glass of water is?”
The students’ answers ranged from 20g to 500gm. “It does not matter on
the absolute weight. It depends on how long you hold it. If I hold it
for a minute, it is Ok.
If I hold it for an hour, I will have an ache in my right arm. If I
hold it for a day, you will have to call an ambulance.
It is the exact same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it
becomes.”
”If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, we will not be
able to carry on, the burden becoming increasingly heavier.”
”What you have to do is to put the glass down, rest for a while before
holding it up again.”
We have to put down the burden periodically, so that we can be
refreshed and are able to carry on.
So before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of work
down.
Don’t carry it back home. You can pick it up tomorrow.
Whatever burdens you are having now on your shoulders, let it down for
a moment if you can. Pick it up again later when you have rested....
Rest and relax.
Life is short, enjoy it!!

MY FRIENDS
My friends are like the stars in the sky,
Reaching out whenever I cry.
Wiping the tears off my face,
And putting a smile in its rightful place.
Listening to my complaints and wishes,
Always has time for hugs and kisses.
Someone who feels all my pain,
And then my happiness they try to gain.
My friends are like grains of sand,
Always lending a helping hand.
One by one, they are too small,
But holding together, they make it all.
My friends are like angels from heaven,
Keeping me safe in their outstretched wings.
Guiding me through thick and thin,
Standing by my side forever within.
Together we stand, proud and tall,
When one of us suffers, we all will fall.
When I am weak, they are strong,
And helping me to carry on.
My friends have always been part of my heart,
I don't know if we ever will part.
If our friendship will not last,
I will look at all the good times in the past.
If we ever do part,
I know our friendship will always have a place in my heart.
My friends mean everything to me,
And together we always will be.

If Teddy Bears Ruled The World
If teddy bears ruled the world,
Oh my, what a wonderful place.
Everyone would be happy.
There would be a smile on every face.
We would picnic every Sunday
At our favorite old oak tree.
We would sing and dance and prance about,
Just playing joyfully.
We would all be nice to each other
And always lend a hand.
Ready with a bear hug,
We would always understand.
We would all be happy when something nice
Happened for one of our friends
And our friendships would last forever.
Nothing would cause them to end.
We would be kind to everyone,
Not just those in our own home,
But to everyone throughout our world,
Wherever we may roam.
Yes, if teddy bears ruled the world,
What a wonderful life this would be.
Our hearts would always be happy
As we danced by the old oak tree.

FILL
MY CUP
I offer You my cup of stress that You may fill it with quietness.
I offer You my cup of criticism that You may fill it with encouragement.
I offer You my cup of resentment the You may fill it with forgiveness.
I offer You my cup of fear and worry that You may remold me and make me
strong.
I offer You my cup of pain - the cup You know to well.
I offer my cup of me - that it may be filled to overflowing with You.
There's Sunshine in a Smile
Life is a mixture of sunshine and rain,
Laughter and pleasure, tear-drops and pain;
All days can't be bright, but it's certainly true,
There was never a cloud the sun didn't shine through.
So just keep on smiling whatever betide you,
Secure in the knowledge God is always beside you.
And you'll find when you smile your day will be brighter
and all your burdens will seem so much lighter.
For each time you smile you will find it is true
SOMEBODY, SOMEWHERE will smile back at YOU!
And nothing on earth Can make life more worthwhile
than the sunshine and warmth of a BEAUTIFUL SMILE

Stop fighting your pain. As long as you
fight it, your pain controls you. Physically fighting pain only makes
it worse. Concentrate on relaxing the area that hurts, let the pain
flow through you, and you will feel it diminish.
