A Little About Usbar15.gif (4491 bytes)

Longview, Washington is in the SW corner of the state along the Columbia River.  Our sister cities are Kelso, Washington across the Cowlitz River and Rainier, Oregon across the Columbia River.

The Pacific Ocean is just a little over an hour away.  You can see a lot of information about SW Washington and NW Oregon by looking at our Welcome Magazine in the Longview Daily News.

Pete and I met in High School 50 years ago, R. A. Long High School, here in Longview.  We were married 3 years later.  We have 3 grown children, Pete Jr., Craig and Leslie Ann.  Pete lives in Longview and he and his wife, Lisa have 3 children.  Craig lives in Kelso with Kim (his wife) and their 3 children.  Leslie lives in Ridgefield, about 40 minutes away, and she and Russell Johnson (her hubby) have 2 daughters.  We have one Great grand daughter, Alyssa who lives with her mommy and daddy in Virginia.

Pete owns his own Trucking and Logging Company and he and his wife Lisa own Evergreen Terrace Gardens Nursery.  Craig owns Audio Express, selling and installing stereo systems, home sound systems and Satellite television dishes.

We watched  Mt. St. Helens blow her top.  You can find great pictures and information on this page in the Welcome Magazine. We had about 4 inches of ash in our gutters, and it rained mud.  The plume was absolutely beautiful.  There was no running Lava so no one had to fear it.  What did happen was that the logs that blew down came down the Toutle River, into the Cowlitz and on into the mighty Columbia River....a sight to see, as logs, appliances, etc.  floated down the Columbia into the Pacific Ocean.

Pete worked at Weyerhaeuser Pulp until he retired in 1995. 2 years ago he found his dream car, a '59 Impala just like we used to have in 1960.  He enjoys playing computer games and watching new release video movies.

I was an Avon Representative for 17 years and then became a District Sales Manager for 8 yrs.  I had to medically retire in 1995 due to Fibromyalgia, Myofascial Pain and Osteo-Arthritis.   I love working on my computer and contribute to the 50+ Friends Pages.  I am an editor in our 50+ Cookbook for the    Fish and Seafood and Meat and Wild Game .

I hope you enjoy looking through my pages.   Be sure to leave me a message in my Guest Book before you leave.

Pete's Baby -- '59 Impala just like the one he used to have in 1959.
