Here are my monthly sites- I go to these sites as they are my favorite.

Dragon Dreams is a great Site. Jennifer Aikman-Smith is the Designer

of some fabulous Fantasy Samplers and just Dragons in general.

She is giving away in the online Newsletter The Dragon Virtues blocks

and I must say its very impressive so far. Check out her stuff. I am doing the Fantasy

Sampler myself and as soon as I get my roll of film developed and scanned in

I'll show you my Sampler (it's not done I'm only about halfway).  I plan on doing her

garden sampler as her sayings on her samplers are truly from the heart.

Ok I also like Barbara J. Westhovens stuff.  She sells on Ebay (under search go to seller and type in bjwesthoven) She rocks. She likes to make her own patterns for Kokeshi Dolls and Oriental Women and Designs. She does do other stuff as well but I'm interested in her Japanese and Oriental stuff for right now. I recently finished one Kokeshi Doll and am all most half way through with a Needlepoint piece (she hand paints her canvases). I have bought a few more pieces from Barbara only this last week and she will be putting up a site. I can't wait to see it and show to others. I plan on putting up the finished piece that I did and eventually (once I pull out some stitches on the Needlepoint canvas and redo) I'll put her up too.

One of my favorite stitches is Blackwork. I love to do it and learn all about it. I have several books on blackwork/spanish stitch etc. Here are a few sites for an aspiring Blackwork artist.

http://www.aion-needlecrafts.co.uk/designs/catalog.htm

http://www.blackworkarchives.com/

http://crossstitch.about.com/cs/freebiesblackwor/index.htm  Be careful at this site as it has popup adds.

http://www.angelfire.com/band/samplers/osanna4.html Free patterns not great site but ok

http://www.carriedesign.freeuk.com/index.htm Great site with a wealth of patterns on blackwork.

http://www.skinnersisters.com/ While most feel the Skinner Sisters is a great site I find this site lacking in quality pictures and organizational style. Still it does have some nice blackwork patterns.

Here are some nice Sampler sites While some of these are commercialized they are still nice sites.

http://www.withmyneedle.com/

http://www.handworksamplers.com/framer.htm Nice site

http://www.mcintoshsamplers.com/samp.htm

http://www.emlis.com/ Just found this site and I like it!

http://www.scarlet-letter.com/ Enter this site and you will not be dissapointed.

http://www.theessamplaire.com/ Finally they have updated the site and its a nice one at that.

http://www.sheepishdesigns.com/ One of my favorite all time sites

http://www.margaretandmargaret.com/index.html  Very commercial pattern site.

Did anyone say free links....

I've not had a lot of time to update this page but am trying to do this page the Fall of 2003.

Thanks for understanding.

Here is what a Kokeshi Doll looks like there are many different ones that you can view on ebay (just image it in Cross Stitch or Needlepoint).

I think its the unique color schemes and the "faces" that draw me to a pattern. Barbara does a great job at interpreting the doll. These particular dolls are from ebay. I just downloaded their pictures as I liked them.
