Quilts in Progress

Block of the Month Programs I do through a shop called Quilter's Corner.

I'm doing the below BOM's from Quakerton Quilts:

Garden Time

http://www.quakertownquilts.com/GardenTime.shtml

I'm doing not only in Wool's but in Cotton because Andy and I are also doing each a set of baskets on in awful browns and another in vibrant colors

I'm not sure if this store is supposed to have up the baskets but here they are anyway for free!

I'm also finishing up four other quilts from another store I did BOM at called Guild Crafters. They have a website but to be honest I didn't like this years BOM selection and it's a big drive for me so I'm just finishing up the 4 that I did through them....

http://www.guildcrafters.com/

I'm looking forward to see what new BOM's they plan on doing in the fall of 05...

Garden of Stitches is a book of 16 flowers and they broke it up to getting two blocks plus you used material from the actual block to make the border so I've only got around 2 blocks left to stitch. I hand stitched each using the Heat and Bond and raw edge with a buttonhole stitch very Folk art looking.  This was a very fun quilt to do and once everything is done and sew it is a complete quilt top waiting to be quilted.

Checkerboard Flowers

Now this quilt on the other-hand has been nothing but difficult. I really don't like the overlapping that some of these blocks do so I'm trying to fit it all on the actual block itself. I do have the inner block and it's not finished. I have heat and bonded all but the sunflower and the very top block I think it's a pansy. I've cut all the little squares (about 90 per block) and I just need to sew them on now. Also I've started to hand sew this as it calls for a raw saw tooth cut whitch I didn't like so I just cut a straight edge and again using the buttonhole stitch.

This was a block of the month and you got one per month and I think they are still selling this for another year because of the popularity. It is a complete top when finished just waiting to be quilted.

I've yet to discover who the next blocks are through......

Celestial Stars is not by RJR (?) and to be honest it is very difficult for someone who just started quilting a year or so ago.....It's got paper peicing and 12 blocks plus everything else. It will be a complete top when I'm done but who knows when that will be because I just may not finish it....

Another quilt I got the peices for except the matching backing is one I think the store designed due to it being a memorial to the original store owner. Honestly I've not had time to read the story behind it nor to cut most of it and it is even more difficult then the Celestial Stars. There are 12 blocks and I also have the sashing and border material so once I've worked up the courage I'll have a complete top. That's why I like Guild Crafters is their BOM's are complete tops unlike Quilters Corner but the drive is tough and they only do the BOM's on Wednesdays.....so I go to Quilter's Corner because it's more conveinet and on the 1st Saturday of the month.

Continuing Progress Quilts

I'm working on the Monster Quilt by Quakertown Quilts.

http://www.quakertownonline.com/Monster.html

I'm doing this quilt applique by using the Steam to Steam method. Another words I'm using Lite Bonding and pressing it to the fabric parts and then placing on the white background. I've got half of the figures done and all the figures cut out. I just need to find time to hand stitch each peice due to not having a sewing machine that is able to do the applique stitch....So time is what is really my enemy here.

I'm also working on a four other Block of the month quilts through two different stores.

Tea Towel Sets

I like the red and white theme in my Kitchen and dining room area and found the Ladybug in the tea towel stuff neat. I have the towel and the heat and bond patterns for the Ladybugs but just need to find the right fabric now for the Ladybugs.... The book by Little Country Quilts contains the patterns for all of the below.

I also now have the pattern and most of the stuff to do a quilt block tote but again time is never on my side.

On top of everything else I still have around 6 pillow cases to finish! Yes I know how to make pillowcases with a french cuff.

PUPPY PAWS  is a very cute pattern that I would like to do.  I saw it at Quilter's Corner and not exactly know who it's made by but I think it's made by Mary & Me collection. Lake View Primitives has some great Wool patterns and a quilt BOM that looks fantastic

http://lakeviewprimitives.com/home.html

I have the pattern for the below Arlyn's Embroidery Envelope but it now comes in a kit....bummer. So I've been trying to get the stuff needed to do it.

and as time always tells someone has come out with a better needle-roll so I'm trying to figure out where and who made the other pattern. Eventually I would like to do a  unique pin cushion like the acorn or the strawberry that is at the store.

I also went to a quilt store named Quilters Patch Inc. out in St. Clair Shores and even though the owner was rude, and not very friendly I ended up buying a beginer block for a Victorian Crazy Quilt Block that the owner of the store designed there are 12 blocks in all with a promised 6 more soon but that's been a promise now for 6 months so I don't think it's happening. Yeh I know it's not really a crazy quilt if there is a pattern but it is very pretty and with the right oriental fabrics it could be very beautiful. I've had it now for several months and just don't seem to be getting it but I'll manage somehow or another.

Quilts in the Future

I have at least 3 of 4 below quilts planned, here they are.....

Sunbonnet Sue quilt

http://www.sunbonnetsue.com/

I will be using the Oriental Sue free pattern from the above site. I plan on accumulating oriental patterns and then putting her together.

Bonnet Girls Quilt

http://www.bonnetgirls.com/

I really like the Bonnet Girls. However the site is newer as the original owner left the business last Dec. I await the finished website.

Book quilt

I will be using probably the one on this page but I'll modify it when I feel the need to do so.

http://www.winnowing.com/patterns.html

The above quilt was one I found off of Christine Thresh's site. I'm not a Kitty Kat fan so I'd probably would do dogs but I liked this one very much. I've saved pictures of ones that have the title and author on the book that I like as well. I'm planning this one out very carefully.

I also would love to do the the My dog quilt but I think I've chosen enough to keep me very busy......

Wee Village

http://www.future-heirlooms.com/

All Designs are from Margo Roses' site above. I'm not able to save any pictures so you'll have to go to the site and look at the Wee Village stuff.

Houses Quilt

Quilted Village, Home is where the Heart is, English Cottage, Thimbleberries Village,

Thimbleberries Twilight Village, FarmHouse Quilt

All around town

There's a Dog on my quilt or Dazzling Dogs Quilt, Summers End Quilt

I really really want to do one of Christine Thresh's quilts like her Elephant or the My Dog Your Dog quilt. Very fun innovative quilts!
