This website contains a variety of links that have to do with the Women's Suffrage Movement. There is no real date that the movement started on, because it really started when any women thought to herself, “I want equal voting rights.” This website covers many aspects of the movement. Through many actions by women suffragists like Susan B. Anthony and Carrie Chapman Catt, women won the rights that they deserve.

This is an excellent resource about 75 of the most important suffragists. It gives the main highlights of each woman's life and accomplishments. Good for researching names of Suffragists and basic information.

This database is an excellent resource for finding more detailed information about suffragists. It also contains a link to an essay by Carrie Catt, and pictures to accompany some of the biographies.

Women's Suffrage Associations

This website focuses on a few different associations that were key to the suffrage movement. The descriptions are relatively short, but informative with the basic information regarding them.

The History of Women's Suffrage

This website features a brief history of Women's Suffrage that caters to how the movement arose, and the suffragist movements in other countries. It contains links to important essays of the era.

Suffrage

This website contains a few links to people, the Seneca Falls Convention, and various arguments that were used. The information is organized in an original manner, but the sites contain information that is difficult to find else ware.

Anthony Center for Women's Leadership: History of Women's Suffrage

This website includes a brief description of the women's suffrage movement over the past 200 years, and links to information on people, timelines, and organizations. The summary is not detailed in the least, but the links provide more specific information.

The Susan B. Anthony Trial

This site gives a description of many famous trials including that of Susan B. Anthony. It also includes links to pictures, cartoons, information on the 19th Amendment, and other information concerning Susan B. Anthony's trial.

This website contains copies of speeches and articles by suffragists, including Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Emily Collins, Lucretia Mott, Sojourner Truth, Lucy Stone and Angelina Grimke Weld.

This website is devoted to the life of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and her contributions to the Women's Suffrage movement. There are also links to other helpful sites concerning the women's suffrage movement.

Votes for Women

Excellent site by the Library of Congress. Contains The Woman Suffrage Timeline which presents a timeline from 1776-1923 that includes highlights of suffragists lives and dates of important speeches, specific events that were organized.

The Seneca Falls Convention

This timeline covers from 1776-1920 and includes links to other parts of the website to address specific things. It also lists the dates that the right to vote was lost in certain states, publications by suffragists, and different groups of people that supported women's suffrage.

Seneca Falls Convention

This is a relatively concise website about the Seneca Falls Convention and how it was organized by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott. Short, but gives general information about the Convention.

Timeline of Women's Suffrage in the US

This website presents a detailed timeline starting with Abigail Adams voicing her opinion in 1776 and ending with the Nineteenth Amendment in 1920. The highlights of the movement are divided into sections explaining what the basic change was during the allotted time.

Western Women's Suffrage

This website contains a basic summary of the suffrage movement in the West. The summary isn't overly informing, but it has excellent links to other parts of the website that cater specifically to women's suffrage in certain western states. (The pictures are interesting too)

Women and the Progressive Era

This website deals with the different efforts of women in the Progressive Era to reform the US, including working for women's suffrage.

Minor vs. Happersett

This site provides information on the Minor vs. Happersett Supreme Court case.

Women's Suffrage Court Cases

This website contains an assortment of Wisconsin court cases, but the one that applies to the suffrage movement is the "Brown vs. Phillips and others" case. (click on the link). This website provides an overview of the case, and the basic arguments and ruling.

The Amendments

This site gives the amendments from 11-27, including the 15th and 19th which have to do with the women's' suffrage movement. Included is The 19th Amendment which provides an overview about how the 19th amendment was passed and the National American Women's Suffrage Association's part in it's passing.

This website is a database full of pictures relating to the women's suffrage movement. The images are people involved in the movement, pictures taken during rallies or conventions. The best part about this website is how the pictures are each linked to a separate page about the action in the picture. (This website also shows different men that were involved in the movement)

This website is organized as a collage with various different images relating to the suffrage movement. This site includes various political cartoons mostly poking fun at the movement. The political cartoons are a rare treat and give insight into how different people were feeling towards the women.

Women's Suffrage Cartoons

This is a website strictly about political cartoons regarding the Women's Suffrage Movement. The cartoons are compiled by name, and where they were originally published. The cartoons are extremely interesting to see different point of views.

Political Culture and Imagery of American Woman Suffrage

This site displays a few different buttons, banners, and various knickknacks that suffragists wore or used to promote their cause.

This website gives a very brief overview of the different movements during the 1800's and 1900's. Links to more information are included.

Women's Suffrage Discussion

This website features a lengthy discussion of the social aspects of the women's movement. The author does an in-depth discussion of her opinions on the suffrage movement's social effects.
