During the Second New Deal, many reform movements were passed to help the American people during the Great Depression. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, known as FDR, created reform legislation during the Second New Deal that influences today's daily life and economy. Some of the legislation is still around today and are fully functional. The major legislation discussed are the WPA, the Public Utilities Holding Company Act, the Emergency Relief Appropriation, the Wealth Tax Act, the Social Security Act, and the National Labor Relations Act.
This source talks about how FDR and the Second New Deal experienced increased resistance from different political groups and mass movements. It also talks about how FDR started focusing on welfare later on in the Second New Deal; he taxed the rich and put restrictions on private utilities, while building new public structures and passing fair employment legislation.
