Introduction-This website is designed to provide resources for a 9th grade United States history class to further their knowledge about the Populist movement. These sites give detailed descriptions of the Populist visions and goals for reform.This site is designed to help students fully understand the achievements of one of the most influential reform movements in American History.

A Centennial Histriography of American Populism -This website offers a comprehensive source for information concerning Populism and their ideas and beliefs. It covers the effects that Populism had throughout the following decades. This site also includes political cartoons for Populists and a detailed explanation of each.

The People's Party Platform (1896) -This is the text of the original Platform for the Populist Party. It describes the views and what the Populists were hoping to achieve.

Populists in the late 1800's -The Populists were looking for an answer to economic problems that were facing farmers in America in the late 1800's. They looked for answers in economic collectives, but nothing ended the problems for the farmers. The Populists tried to help the farmers but ended up failing.

The Rise of the Populists - The reasons for and the buildup to the Populist Party are included in this website. It also discusses the ideals and missions of the Populist Party. This site explains why the farmers in America needed aid from the Populist Party.

Populism Home Page - The Populists were confronted with economic problems that the American farmers were facing in the late 1800s. They created a third political party to plead their case to the government. This site talks about their success and failures.

The Populist Movement - The Populist Movement was a politically organized group of farmers in the Midwest and South. They pushed numerous economic and political legislation in the late 1800s. The Populist Party came as a result of the failure of Farmers Alliances.

The Populist Party - The Populists won some early victories when they won control of the Kansas State Legislature. However, when they backed silver coinage they lost nearly all of their support. The Populist Party was over.

The Populist Party Platform - This link gives a clear, detailed description of the Populist Platform and their very unique ideas for reform. This site explained the problems that the Populists hoped to correct through these reforms.

Waves of Reform 1880-1891 - Historians have long debated the achievements and ideals of the early Populist movement. This source gives two clearly different opinions that analyze the true goals of the Populist reform in America.
