JAN 23rd 2006 UPDATE
NETT had a great showing at the Boston Prep Derry 16 miler this weekend.
First off, we notched three runners in top 10. Paul Miller was 5th place overall in a blistering 1:34 (yes, that is sub-6 pace on those hills). Me and Paul Young finished 8th and 9th place in 1:39, although Mr. Young was not in NETT uniform, so he gets penalized. (But then he got bonus points for finding everyones lost clothes and picking up our awards!)
But wait...there's MORE good news!
Toledo Joe Hardin ran a very strong race on the hilly course, finishing in 1:54, (very close to 7 minute pace), on minimal distance training, showing he is fit for a great 2006!
Cindy Winther gets the STAR of the DAY, as she ran smart and strong showing that hill training is paying off, in 2:04. SHe's setting up for another marathon PR at Boston this spring!
Big Ben Winther ran unregistered and gets the award for the biggest discrepancy in mile splits--ever.
And Doris gets the volunteer of the day award for driving the course and cheering.
It was a great showing for us all out there.
Fila 'sponsorship' is real...40% off running shoes from the Bill Rodgers Running Center + new uniforms.
Pls, pls send short and singlet size to Jerry by Mon Jan 23rd
