Step 6 - Proofreading and Editing

Print a copy of your report to take home and proofread. You should take a break from your writing before beginning the proofreading process. The next step is to study proofreader marks to be used in the proofreading process.

After you have proofread your paper and made edits in Word, print a new copy to give to your editor. You are responsible for editing your partner's paper and submitting the edited paper to your instructor. All edits must be made using the proper proofreader marks.

Make corrections to your paper, print and bind it, and submit it for a grade.
