Matt Stegle
Matt Stegle plays the euphonium in The Trinity Brass. Most of the musical arrangements played by the group call for a tuba, and Matt typically will play this part on his classic Boosey & Hawkes "Imperial" bell-front compensating instrument.
Matt began playing during his public school days in Baldwin, New York, where he played through High School. After taking "several" years off from playing at all, he once again took up the instrument when he joined Trinity Church in 1995. He became the group's Coordinator in 2002, assuming this role from founder Hal Grau. As Coordinator, he takes care of the business matters of the group, and arranges and transposes music as needed.
In 1998, Matt joined the community orchestra in Frederick, MD, the Frederick Symphony Orchestra. He performs with the orchestra each season, and currently serves as the Orchestra's president.
Matt is the chairperson of Trinity Church's Church Council. He is employed as a field sales leader with a major insurance company, and lives in Frederick with his wife, Cindy, and son, Kurt.
