The Trinity Brass is an instrumental brass ensemble sponsored by Trinity United Methodist Church of Frederick, Maryland. The instrumentalists are either members of the church or attend worship services on a regular basis. When neeeded, additional musicans have been asked to perform with the group.
The group rehearses regularly throughout the year, and participates in worship services at Trinity church approximately once each month by playing various anthems or other special music. Additionally, we play outside of own church at various times throughout the year. Some of these have been:
- Various United Methodist Churches in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church
- Special events sponsored by Trinity Church, such as the annual picnic and the annual "All-Choir Music Festival"
- Church Conference events, such as the appointment of the new Bishop as well as the farewell of the departing Bishop
- "United Methodist Day" at Paramount's King's Dominion theme park in Doswell, Virginia
- City of Frederick's 250th Anniversary Parade in 1998
- Various Frederick Keys Class A Minor League baseball games at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick, MD
- Various shopping malls during the Christmas holiday season
- Scouting organization ceremonies
- Organization dinners
- "Grand Opening" Ceremonies of local busnisesses.
History of The Trinity Brass
The Trinity Brass Ensemble was founded in 1994 by long-time church member Hal Grau. Its initial purpose was to perform at Trinity's Christmas worship services that year. Due to the enjoyment by each of the members, the decision was to continue to perform on a regular basis. Several of the original members continue to play with the group.

Repertoire
The Trinity Brass plays a wide array of secular and sacred music, usually arranged for a standard Brass Quartet or Quintet. In addition, hymns are transposed from The United Methodist Hymnal to accompany congregational singing. Some of the favorite selections include: traditional and dixieland versions of Amazing Grace, Just a Closer Walk with Thee, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, and Pachelbel's Canon in D.
