Game Information

Dig tunnels underground and use an air pump to inflate and blow-up your enemies. You can also drop rocks on your foes. Dislodge two rocks and a bonus fruit or vegetable will appear in the center of the screen. A level ends when all the enemies have been destroyed.

If you want to be extra greedy and get more points, eat all the dirt on the level. Leave only two enemies (because they will speed up, and three is too hard to handle). You do not need to eat every little bit of dirt (you can leave long passageways to slow down the enemies). Also leave only Pookas, since the Fygars can burn you through the dirt.

After level 12, the screens repeat in waves of four. There are patterns for these levels. Also, after level 36, all the enemies will speed up. You will have to use new patterns for all the other levels again.

This game does not award extra man after 900,000 points. The score will flip over at 1,000,000. It is very easy to get a score of 999,990 by eating dirt for ten points per section.

At level 256, the game begins with a Pooka on top of the player character. Since there is no way to escape, your game is basically over, no matter how many lives you have left.

I received this off a fellow collector for a Q*bert I traded him. The game works, the cabinet is solid but the artwork is a little beat.

The screen has some serious burn but is not too noticable during gameplay. The marquee and bezel are in really good condition.

Control panel is a little beat too... :(

After playing a few times I noticed that the Hi-Scores were not saving as suggested in the manual. After checking the schematics and doing some research I found that the ER2055 chip at 10G is what holds the scores and requires +29VDC to function properly. I took out my DMM and tested for +29V at the test point and was only getting +2.1V. A quick post to KLOV (http://forums.klov.com) and a fellow collector informed me that the -29VDC is supplied by the +36VAC coming from the power brick. I pulled out the schematics and checked for +36VAC at the edge connector... no good, then the power brick... good. I followed that to the fuse holder and sure enough the fuse was blown. I replaced the 4A, 250V SB and powered the game back up. The fuse held and I was getting +29V at the test point. I played a couple of games, scored 126k and turned the game off. I came back a little while later and the score stayed.

I was informed that there is another local collector that has a cabinet in better shape for sale. I am hoping to get this and transplant the guts. We shall see...
