CANCELATIONS:   In order to cancel your reservation, you must call or e-mail us no later than 7:00pm on Thursday, April 16th.  As long as you call us by the 7:00pm deadline, you will be refunded.   We cannot apply your fee to a future flea market. If you do not contact us by the 7:00pm deadline on Thursday, you will be marked as a “no show” and the fee you paid will be donated to Murphy Recreation Center.

SET-UP/OPERATING HOURS/CLOSING/CLEAN-UP:  Vendors can set-up between 7-9AM.  All vendors MUST be in their assigned space(s)no later than 9AM.  Failure to comply will result in losing your assigned space. There are no exceptions to this policy.  After 9AM, you may be placed at another location (space permitting).  Operating Hours are from 9AM to 3PMVendors are required to leave their space(s) clean.  A trash dumpster will be located on Shunk Street for your convenience.

WEATHER:   Call 215-550-5579 on the morning of Sept. 12th for information as to whether the flea market will go on as scheduled or if it will be held on the rain date, Sept 13th.

FOOD LICENSING:  If you are selling food, you MUST mail us a copy of your valid operating license with your application.  You are required to have the following licenses in order to sell food within the City of Philadelphia: 

  • Business Privilege License
  • Sidewalk Vendor License
  • Food Handler’s License

LITERATURE:  Distribution / solicitation of political and or religious materials is NOT permitted during any flea market.  You may place approved business cards, flyers and other printed materials at our information table which will be located on Shunk Street near the entrance to the Recreation Center. 

RESTRICTED MERCHANDISE:  We are a responsible organization. Therefore, we must monitor the merchandise sold by our vendors.  For your convenience, we have compiled a brief listing of items that are regulated by the Philadelphia Police.  These items can NOT be sold:

     No drugs or drug paraphernalia: including, but not limited to: containers, pipes, rolling papers and or any type of head shop items.  Collectible pillboxes ARE acceptable.

     No pornographic materials:  including, but not limited to:  literature, magazines, videos and or similar items.

     No weapons:  including, but not limited to:  collectible, new and/or used guns, hunting knives, pen knives, brass knuckles, sling shots and/or similar items.

     Other restricted items:  bootleg audio/video tapes, brand-name counterfeits, fireworks and/or stolen merchandise.

 

WARNING: YOU ARE SUBJECT TO ARREST, FINES AND/OR IMPRISONMENT IF YOU DISPLAY AND/OR SELL ILLEGAL MERCHANDISE AT ANY FLEA MARKET, ILLEGAL MERCHANDISE WILL BE CONFISCATED BY THE PHILADELPHIA POLICE.
