I have a hands-on approach
to working with my clients.

Look, before I start
bragging all over myself, please be aware of this very important fact: I love to laugh.

This old-fashioned girl with a new-fashioned twist of independence solves problems, offers creative solutions, and doesn't like to waste time while I'm at it. I accomplish my goals with a smile on my face, a song in my heart, and usually some kind of movie or Broadway soundtrack on my MP3 player.

Joanne Mercer
Owner, MVOS

I've been in- and out- of Corporate America since 1978. I was Director of Public Relations for The Lutheran Home at Topton, a $30 million non-profit organization. I later served in the same capacity for Governor Mifflin, the largest school district in Berks County, PA.

As a subcontractor, I wrote end-user manuals and computer programs for Weidenhammer. I designed and launched many a local website.  I worked my way through college as a photographer and reporter for most of the local newspapers, and a few regional and national magazines.

I wrote and won grants and award applications for major corporations, was nominated for several national writing awards, and  won international recognition for my photography.

I served as a substitute teacher in the Berks County School District, and offered one-on-one tutoring in a wide variety of fields.

I am also very good with crowds. I recently worked as a Corporate Trainer and Sales Rep for US Jesco. Have you ever seen those entertaining product demonstration booths in stores? Then you may have seen me!

For almost six years, I was an on-air personality at QVC, representing The Quacker Factory clothing line.

I am a member in good standing with the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), and Actors' Equity Association (AEA). For two summers I studied the art of Improvisation, at the famed Second City Training Center, in Chicago.

Now, I work with The Vagabond Acting Troupe, a 501C3 based out of Honey Brook. We are developing a semi-professional, touring Children's Improv Troupe.

Why such a  non-traditional work background? Well, just one year after my husband and I were married (1983), he was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. We went through two bouts of chemotherapy (Lancaster General Hospital,) and a bone marrow transplant at Johns Hopkins University.

The doctors said Stephen and I would never have children, and they only gave him about five years to live.

Here it is, 2012. We have two wonderful, children, young adults now. On December 20, Stephen and I celebrated his 26th Bone Marrow Transplant "Birthday."

What I'm saying is, I learned at the very young age of 23, that Life is what you make it. You have to be responsible, but you can do it on your own terms.

So if you enjoy working with an relaxed woman who gets the job done with ease, warmth, and humor, then you have come to the right place!
