I bought this ride as a "family truckster" to replace the lack of space in my 2000 Z3 (see past rides) on September 11, 2004 (hopefully not an omen of things to come). Initially skeptical of an additional SAV from BMW (the X5 4.4i w/ Sport & Premium Pkgs are nice, but spendy) the X3 was an alternative that might fit the bill - but I was made nervous by all of the scathing articles and reviews from car magazines (Car and Diver, Autoweek). After my first test drive (in an identically outfitted X3), I was sold. Working out the deal on the lease followed by a drive to the warehouse to see it (with the packaging still on the interior and exterior), we were the first non-BMW employee to drive the vehicle. |

I bought this one at the very end of 2004 - December 29th to be exact. It was bought to replace my first BMW ever purchased, the 1993 E36 325i (see past rides). With the exception of leather seats (leatherette was what they had) and being limited with funds (having recently purchased an X3) the 2005 325i fit the bill - especially given the deal my sales consultant came up with. A quick call looking for used, followed up by an offer of an as good deal (actually better considering full maintenance) on a new lease, quick visit and processing of paperwork on file and voila, she was in the garage next to the X3. |
