Welcome to my Web site!  This is a work in progress so I will post my repairs and pictures as I go.

This is the history of Rosy...

Rosy is the name my dad gave our Volkswagen Beetle. He bought her a few weeks after I was born, we are both 1970 models. This was my first car and she was in need of work when originally given to me at age 15, so my dad and I riveted, painted and got her tuned up and running. Rosy used to be "rosy red" until I at 15, looking at too many  bugs in VW Trends magazine, thought "Hot Pink" would be a better color. Much to my disappointment she came out flat  purple. I buffed and buffed but she was still flat purple.

When I moved out of my dads house Rosy stayed behind. I have been trying to get her back ever since. She got stored in my dads barn on an Ohio farm with his intention of restoring her one day, that day never came. There she sat for 10 years rotting and rusting away.

Finally my dad sold the farm and told me I could have her back but that she was in pretty bad shape. "How bad can she be?" I asked myself, she lasted 34 years so far and I remember her being in pretty good shape. Let me tell you, when he pulled up with her on that trailer my heart sank! How could she have gotten so bad? I was afraid to unload it off the trailer. Everything was rusted! From the pan up four inches around the body it was eaten all the way through. The heater channels were gone, the spare tire holder in the front wasn't even there, two of the windows were busted out, Chickens, cats, and quite a few mice had made it their home while in the barn.

It is quite an undertaking but I think it can be done. It will take years, lots of new tools, lots of new parts, and lots of money. But I am determined to resurrect Rosy!
