Bassing For Autism
www.probassanglers.com - October 23, 2006

Autism is one of the most puzzling disabilities known to the world of psychology, medicine or science. While great progress has been made in the field of autism, greater awareness is the goal of those who have taken on the fight to better understand it. Massachusetts resident Eli Delany's son Luke, has been diagnosed with autism. Luke, loves to fish, and finds his time on the water to be very enjoyable.

Eli just bought a new boat this season, and, wanting to do something special to create an awareness to autism, he took advantage of the method of choice in the bass fishing world today,......he wrapped his boat in a special autism wrap.

"When I got a new boat this season I was thinking about how I could create awareness for autism through my tournament fishing and it's prevalence in our society. This is when I decided that with the great success of "wrapped" boats on all tours this year it would be the perfect medium to make a statement that was a truly positive display of my love for my son and the daily struggle he and so many other children and adults with Autism have with communicating and interacting with others.

Besides the Autism theme there also is a small portion of the wrap dedicated to the Lance Armstrong foundation and their war on cancer. Both my parents died of cancer and without their support and guidance I never would have become interested in tournament fishing. I feel that Lance embodies a true champion for all athletes and cancer patients/survivors to emulate in his passion for this cause that touches so many in our lives."

Eli has built and is maintaining a web site that will tell the story of "My Little Buddy's Boat."
