Camber was playing outside with Jorin and some other kids in the neighborhood. He comes running in the house, clutching a juice box. "I got this free juice box. All I had to do was eat dirt!" I asked him what Jorin was doing. "He wants a cookie, so he is licking a car tire."

Camber started swim lessons today. He put his head in the water, and even went completely underwater to pick up a ring. This from the kid who won't let mom or dad get his face wet during bathtime.

Camber is having a poor behavior day, and we're reminding him about the rules a lot. He says in disgust "Why is everybody ruling me? I do NOT like it!"

We're just about to open presents.
C: "Who got this for me?"
M: "Santa"
C: "He has the same wrapper as us?"
Note to self: need to hide the wrapping paper too next year.

Camber takes dad to a piano concert at his school. Two parents are professional pianists and they put on a show to raise money for a couple of local families. Very nicely done, Camber especially like singing the Christmas carols at the end. And the no-holds-barred brownies, cookies, Oreos and apple cider, too.

We're swimming at the indoor pool for a birthday party today. Camber actually goes underwater momentarily (although not intentionally) without a total fit afterward. Good sign.

Lissa was holding Luke in her lap. Camber snuggled his head against Luke and kissed him. "Luke is the best. But that's ok mom, I still like you."

Camber seems to have outgrown the ear infections, we've been infection free all year. Woo! Turns out that one tube is still stubornly hanging out in his ear though. We'll have to check again in the spring.

Camber has been practicing early reader books all summer. Now he's back in school and busy working through the easy chapter books. Huh.

Camber discovers that he really likes miniature golf while we're in Ocean City. He and Jorin ask to play every morning. Good think our hotel is near golf central station with lots of courses in walking distance.

We saw Cars today, in the theater. Camber's second try at a full length movie; this time he made it all the way through.

Camber needs some help reading, asks Jorin, and points to the word "where". You can guess what's coming.
C: "What's this word?"
J: "Where."
C: "Here." (points again)
J: "Where."
C: "This one." (points again)
J: "Where!"
C: (getting angry) "This one!!"
J: "I said 'Where'!"

Camber does not like the new world order, where he is offered only the same dinners as everyone else. Mr. Picky has so far opted to skip dinner rather than taste a new food. We are alternating days with food he likes so he won't starve :)

Camber is beginning to read. He is working his way through the Rime to Read series, and doing suprisingly well at it. He's excited when he "gets it."

Camber's school has a potluck dinner this evening.
C: "I know why they call it potluck. There's lots of pots, and we're lucky to play in the night."

Mama: "No."
Camber: "Some?"

Jorin is studying Presidents in class. He says that George Washington was the first President. Camber says "The second President cried, because he wanted to be first."

Daddy: "Ok, last ride."
Camber: "I want two!"
Daddy: "Then you have to walk up the hill yourself."
Camber: "What do I have to do to get 3?"

It's been about 6 months since our last try at a Chinese restaurant. Last time, Camber ate the sweet and sour chicken. This time, nothing.
