Cooleykatz Toys is Livermore’s specialty and educational toy
store owned and operated by “proprietoys” Pat and
Nita Cooley. “As we raised our own children here in Livermore over the past 24 years, we
found ourselves wishing for a local toy store with something different, and
a little educational value as well.
So we opened on July 1, 2006, and here we are! …We hope you’ll come in soon to play
with a few toys, join us for Tuesday Morning Story & Music Time, or
just take a look around.”

Weekly “Funshop” Activities

Every Tuesday Morning - 11-11:30 a.m.
MUSIC and STORY TIME
These drop-in sessions are geared toward preschool-aged children
(accompanied by an adult), but all ages are welcome to attend. The sessions are free of charge and
include a variety of creative activities, such as singing, playing rhythm
instruments, movement, and listening to a story or two.

Why is it called
Cooleykatz Toys?
Once there was a
cat... and “Cooleykat” was just his name!
Every cat has at least two names (and some have more). One is what people call it when they
want it to come and eat, or to come play with
them and act like a cat. Another might be a nickname, but they all have a
secret name too, that only the cat knows.
Okay, his real name was Gumball Cooleykat. His name didn’t have anything to do
with the fact that he was bright orange with white stripes that made it
look like he had just stuck his face in a powdered sugar donut and
sneezed! It was just his
name! So when we decided to open
up a toy store, the name just had to be “Cooleykatz Toys!” It’s just our name!

Take Private Music Lessons
Have fun making music! Learn to play piano, violin, viola,
cello, string bass, flute, clarinet, or saxophone from an experienced,
credentialed music teacher and professional musician. Lessons are $35 for a 30-minute weekly
