Kathy Schrock’s Discovery Page for Teachers

http://school.discovery.com/schrockguide/

What makes this site outstanding for teachers is the range of choices in the teacher section: from lesson plans which are complete with goals, materials, projects, and extension resources to teaching tools to professional growth information in the form of tutorials, this site is superb.

The parent’s section has useful parenting ideas and suggestions for Discovery Channel home learning activities.  The student section has information on different frameworks topics and a homework helper section.

Filamentality

Filamentality is a fill in the blank website that allows teachers to make their own online research activity sheets for their students.  The directions are clear and straightforward.  I do suggest that you know to which web sites you want to send your students before you start making the page.  For an example, of a completed page go to http://www.kn.pacbell.com/wired/fil/pages/huntpaulrevmr.html
