Stephen M. Nagler, MD, FACS

After his 1975 graduation from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Dr. Nagler completed an internship and five additional years of residency training in general surgery and the surgical subspecialties. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. As a physician and surgeon with extensive breast cancer and colorectal cancer experience, Dr. Nagler is intimately familiar with the physical impact of disease as well as its emotional consequences upon patients and their loved ones. This awareness combined with the insight he has gained during his own sixteen-year tinnitus odyssey has helped him communicate on a very personal level with countless tinnitus sufferers from all over the world.

Dr. Nagler has amassed an in-depth understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the auditory system as currently felt to be related to treatment of individuals with intrusive tinnitus. He has lectured nationally and internationally on a wide variety of tinnitus-related topics and has authored numerous articles published in the scientific and lay tinnitus literature. For seven years Dr. Nagler served on the Scientific Advisory Committee of the American Tinnitus Association, and for two years he served as Chairman of ATA’s Board of Directors.

Dr. Nagler and his wife Terri live in Atlanta. They have a son in college and a daughter in graduate school.
