The weather for the 2007 Smithsonian Kite Festival couldn't have been better. The wind was right, cherry trees in full bloom and the sun was shining. Chuck, Allison, and Debbie and friends all brought kites and they were beautiful as you can see. If anyone has a picture of Chuck's beautiful stained glass kite please email it to me so I can put it up here too. Chuck missed winning the Rokaku battle by one miscounted cut but had a great time. So did William, the boy he picked out of the crowd to be on his team. William took the trophy home and will probably be talking about the kite fly for years!! What a great way to get people involved with this fascinating hobby (or passion, your choice.) |
