Nancy J. Cohen earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the
University of Rochester and a master's degree from the University of
California in
San Francisco. After working as a clinical nurse specialist, she
retired to write full-time. She made her debut onto the
publishing scene with futuristic romance novels written as Nancy
Cane. Her first book, CIRCLE OF LIGHT, won the HOLT Medallion
Award.
PERMED TO DEATH, her fifth published book, was Nancy's debut mystery
from Kensington Publishing Corp. The Bad Hair
Day series features South Florida
beauty
salon owner and hairstylist Marla Shore, who untangles murder clues with sass and style
under the sultry Florida sun. Several of Nancy’s books have
made the
Independent Mystery Booksellers Association bestseller list. KILLER
KNOTS and PERISH BY PEDICURE are the latest titles in this series
that
Publisher's Weekly calls fast-paced and jaunty.
Nancy is listed in Contemporary Authors, Poets & Writers,
and Who’s Who in U.S. Writers, Editors & Poets.
She is an active member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters
in Crime,
Romance Writers of America, Novelists, Inc., and The Author's Guild.
She has served as President of Florida Romance Writers, and
as Secretary for MWA--FLORIDA
chapter. As a featured speaker at conferences, bookstores,
libraries, and local community groups, she enjoys meeting readers and
booksellers. Additional activities include writing articles for The
3rd Degree, The Kiss of Death, Romance Writers' Report, The Literary
Times, Mystery Readers Journal, Romantic Times, and Mystery
Scene
Magazine.
When she is not busy writing, Nancy likes dining at local restaurants,
regional travel, outlet shopping, and schmoozing with fellow
writers.
She and her husband live in the Fort Lauderdale area. They are
empty-nesters with two grown children. Their miniature poodle,
who bears a strong resemblance to Marla's dog Spooks, keeps them
entertained.
