Duane and I both have used computers for many years. We are self-taught.....starting out with one of the first little Apple Macintosh computers. In fact we still have the computer. I think they are antique's by now!. It would only print black and white but at the time I thought I was in "computer heaven" with it....I made our son's high school graduation announcements on it. I look at the announcement now and have to laugh.....oh how far we have come! We now both have HP computers with huge hard drives, CD writers, DVD writers and so on. Also we can print in color now.

We have had several Digital Cameras over the years starting out with a 1 mega pixel camera and now we have a Sony 5 mega pixel. We actually have two of them .......one is large camera and the other one is a small one that will fit in your pocket. Taking digital pictures is one of our favorite hobbies.

Duane is a retired postmaster from a small Colorado town. When Duane retired we moved to a larger town so we could be closer to family and doctors etc. Duane had always thought the computers should be in the Post Office but it was years after he retired that the Post Office started using computers. Duane did use our small Apple computer at home to put the data on for his rural routes out of the Post Office. Duane really enjoys playing Spider Solitaire on his computer and also he is the door greeter for our local Computer User Group. He makes the name badges for the members on his computer using the PrintMaster program. He enjoys using Quicken and keeps our checking account up to date and also prints the checks out on his printer.

I worked in a Photography Studio before Duane and I got married. I ran the black and white print machines in a darkroom for about 4 years. It was interesting work. When my boss had a Christmas Party one year they thought I should have a date so they invited Duane who was a friend of theirs. We were married 6 months later and I quite work shortly after that.

We have two children who are in their 30's now.......our daughter just got her Doctorate in Audiology and our son has his own construction business. They both live near by.

We belong to a Computer Users Group as I mentioned before. We have given demonstrations over the years of our favorite programs and also have written up many evaluations of programs for the group. Our favorite past time now is volunteer work helping people learn basic computer skills. We are members of the RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) and they call us if someone needs help learning all about his or her computer.
