This picture of Misty was taken out in our backyard. She is so photogenic....I think she actually likes her picture taken. I bet if you went through all my digital pictures at least 50 percent would be of her. She most likely was sitting there with her eye on a tennis ball somewhere. We have to buy tennis balls by the dozen to keep her supplied.
It takes a lot of tennis balls to keep Misty happy!

Misty was brought to us one misty, rainy evening by some good friends of ours.......they had just bought the brother to Misty. I had always wanted a golden retriever and I kept saying one day I would have one. Well, when our friends got a golden they thought they wanted Misty too but decided they could not handle two dogs.....so the called us to see if we wanted to take her. That call that night changed our lives so much......Misty grew into a beautiful dog and has been so much fun. She spent time going to the nursing home every day for several years when my mother was there. She knew she had to be quiet and settle down the minute she walked in the door at the nursing home. Everyone loved her and she had them all laughing at her antics of carrying three tennis balls all the time. Even though our daughter does not live at home anymore Misty just goes wild when she comes over to visit. I have never figured out why those two bonded so well but Misty stays with our daughter the whole time she is here. She can not be fooled at all if our daughter comes over and tries to hide from her.......Misty knows she is is somewhere. She knows the sound of our daughter's car and sometimes she runs to the door before we realize our daughter is here and sits there waiting for her to come in the door.
Misty is our helper when we mow the lawn....if you can call it that,ha,ha. She loves to put her tennis balls in front of the mower so we can throw them for her. We have to stop and throw them to get them out of the way. She delights in doing this. She is finally getting the idea that if we holler "get them out of the way" she will pick them up and move them a short distance so we can go on mowing.....she thinks this is a great game as she keeps doing this all over our yard. We get our bending over exercises when we mow the lawn and play with her.
