Letter from Mr. Miller,First, I would like to welcome you all to the Antioch Band Family. We are very excited about each of you joining us in our quest for Musical Excellence. This next year holds many new exciting changes. As I am sure you know that we are moving to a new schedule. On the A/B Block Schedule you will have 4 classes a day, and those classes will alternate between A days and B days. We are in the process of designing next year's schedule, and will be able to give you more information at a later date. We are also embarking on a new venture with Small Learning Communities. Each student will choose a "pathway". This is similar to choosing a Major in college. While you will have the option to choose a "Fine Arts" pathway, you will still be able to be a member of the band program even if you choose a different "pathway". We hope to see all of you join the band at Antioch High School. Band holds many opportunities to perform and experience music at a much higher level than Middle School. You will also have the opportunity to perform not only on our stage but also in the outdoor arena. We perform at several marching competitions each year, including the Contest of Champions at MTSU. Our concert groups perform at festival every year and 2008-2009 will mark our Wind Ensemble's third appearance at the TMEA ALL STATE CONCERT FESTIVAL. There are only 28 groups a year that are privileged to perform in this venue. We count ourselves as very lucky to be part of that elite group.
