Seeing how this site will probably replace my aging website, I have to have a personal section so that my spread out family may check in from time to time and see what is going on.
This is the whole Gregory Clan, together for Christmas in Pensacola Florida My family is centered upon the belief systems of a mid-western farmer. My father had joined the military during the draft years of World War II, completed his enlisted tour, then got out, earned a degree and went back in as an Officer, to become a Navy Pilot. He grew up in Missouri, the North Western quarter of the state, until college, then the draft, then Navy and then misc. jobs till he went back in. The reason why I'm mentioning this, is that while he was a dyed in the wool farmboy from backwoods Missouri, he chose to enter the service of his country, and moved around his whole life dragging the family with him. As we moved often, we all learned valuable skills such as making new friends, being able to get along with pretty much any race, color or ethnic group, and fitting in with the neighbors. In my childhood living a Navy life was an interesting one, one with many rewards that I thought would be worthwhile later. I've lived on both coasts, California 3 times, New England twice, New York (city-Bronx), Florida (3 times), travelled overseas, lived in Japan for 2 years, then lived in Alabama, Mississippi, South Dakota, and back to Florida. Its no wonder that I really have no interest in moving again, I like Florida, and Jacksonville is a nice city with good opportunity, most of the time, so it appears we'll stay here. Hurricanes and all. Speaking of Hurricanes, here is a shot of the parents house after the Big Hurricane in 2004.
Take note that all of the trees that remain have no tops on them anymore, all the trees lost about a 3rd off the top. Since each of us kids were 18 we have been out on our own, My older brother Chris, has worked at NATO headquarters in Belgium now for close to 10 years, I've stayed here in the country the whole time, while the youngest brother Gil spent time traveling the world, living in Japan again teaching english to Japanese students. And later Gil moved to Florida to teach again here after starting his family. Gil has been in direct fire of more storms than we have as he is settled in the southern Florida area. Anyway, we don't get together often, we rarely talk to each other on the phone, and occasionally talk via email but for some reason we all seem to be somewhat loners in that we all seem to be self sufficient so rarely call each other. I recently purchased a replacement digital camera so will be inserting pictures and videos soon so that the grandparents can enjoy them from Pensacola, as well as the Uncle and Aunt overseas.
Have a few "Glamor" shots of the women and for posterity will post a few.
