In 2002, the stealth had been in the shop so often that I had wasted close to 1500 in rental car expenses, so figured i had to get  a replacement daily driver car.  Nothing expensive, nor extremely fast, just decent looking and dependable.  And that is what i got, a used 2000 Mustang GT with a SOHC 4.6 liter V8, and a 5spd transmission with 37k miles.   My favorite color has always been green, and to my delight i found a bright green stang with tinted windows listed on the internet for a local dealership, at a 13,000 price it was a great deal, and while it wouldn't be very miserly on gas, it still used regular which was somewhat cheaper, plus it drove nice and had some grunt to it.

Soon after buying it, i realized it just couldn't stay completely stock.  I wanted to add more stump pulling torque to the way it felt when driving so had a set of 3.73 rear gears installed, plus installed vinyl stripes to hood/roof/trunk and Boss stripes on the lower door sills.  I also added a T shifter handle to duplicate what the BOSS package did back in 70.  Very cheaply done, and the car has a distinctive look all its own.  It is still slightly underpowered, but is still very dependable to drive daily, and seems to run nice all the time.  Only gripe now is an exhaust leak, but that can be fixed shortly.   While I could easily add a supercharger to get the power I crave, I can't do so while I retain ownership of the turbo stealth.  I figure one turbo/supercharged car per person is enough.  So I haven't installed a supercharger, instead hoping I will trade it in on a production supercharged model if they build enough of them next year.
