The post and base of this lamp are Black Walnut. The antlers are a nice matched set of antler "sheds". The sheds are removable for inspecting. An antler base finial, pull switch and deer track lampshade adds additional flavor.
Total height is about 26" tall.
Closet Door
This is a 6' double coat closet door that opens along the center seam in the trunk of the tree. The main doors are recycled Pine that once came from Grayling, Michigan, about 30 years ago. The intarsia tree is 1" thick Red Oak. The edge trim around the door is Cherry, the root spaces are Walnut and the side tree is Poplar.
These doors were recently mounted in my mud room and are not for sale, but offered as ideas of the type of custom work we could for your home.
Trout Carving
Here is a beautiful hand carved piece designed to either set on your mantle or to be hung on your wall. The base and frame are of aromatic red cedar logs, cut to show the beauty of the red hearts. The background is Black Walnut over 2" thick, with rocks and "apparitions" of a minnow and trout head coming to life. The main trout is a "brookie" carved from Black Locust (a beautiful yellow wood). The trout is chasing Cherry minnows, under root works of Hickory. The carving is 17" tall, 33" wide at the frame and 40" at the base. Carved by T. Gilbert, 2006.
