Public education. A noble idea today nearly slain by the Sargasso Sea of incompetent bureacracy and pop psych nonsense. What do I have against public education? Nothing against the education part.... nothing against the public part. But against the invisible space between them I have a great many issues.

We have administrations which, like any bureaucracies, place what they are supposed to do far below, on the list of priorities, the perpetuation and expansion of their bureaucracies and power base. They would must rather underpay or lay off actual teaching staff than their redundant and largely unnecessary 'support staff' (who in many cases have even MORE useless support staffs of their OWN!)
