Our "Amazing" Grayce Marie Harper Alsterda passed to heaven at her home on Friday, Dec. 24, 1999.

She battled many illnesses over the years with her wonderful sense of humor but sadly her strength finally failed. She was surrounded by her loved ones.

Grayce was the loving daughter of the late Grace (nee Webber) and George Harper; and devoted wife of the late John R. Alsterda.

She was also preceded in death by her dear brother, George (Bernadine) Harper.

Grayce was born March 7, 1928, and resided in Logan Square for the first part of her life. After marrying John in 1954, they settled in Mount Prospect raising their four children. Grayce spent many years researching and then writing books on her family an
d always enjoyed the multitude of "family and friends" found along the way.

She had many good friends whose support and love over the years gave her great comfort and joy especially the "Gravel Pit Girls".

Grayce leaves behind her children, John (Terry), Sue (John) Stuckey, Marc (Sandy) and Ann (Chris Cariello) McAlpine; and grandchildren, John Patrick, Kevin, Andrew, Erin (Noel) McMahon, Brian, Jeremy, Angela, Sabrina, Daniel and Nicholas.
