We exhibit our Neapolitan Mastiffs in the World Dog Shows and not a single time got back without a trophy. We strive to breed dogs to meet the Standard (to look as correct as possible).
"We never really own a dog as much as he owns us". Gene Hill, Brown Dog,Tears & Laughter
Each dog is long years of searching
(and mostly is the first pick of the litter).
All our dogs are inside living, DNA-d, AVID-microchiped and proper-taken care of.
Correctness, health, functionality and a life span - is what important to us.
We do not breed "sharpei-" or monsterous looking Neapolitan Mastiffs, because "too much" is as incorrect as "not enough"; we do not use dogs with 2-4 years life span in our program. If you want a monsterous looking dog, study up first what kind of vet bills you will be looking at in future.
Remember! The Breed was named "Neapolitan MASTIFF" (requires big size, big bones, massiveness), it was not named "Neapolitan Sharpei" or "Neapolitan Midget" !!!
The dog of the Chinese Sharpei` or Basset Hound` size IS NOT a Mastino, do not forget it!
The dog breeds have been changing, YES, and the dog still MUST BE functional and meet the breed standard; because whatever does not meet the standard (tail length, heights, weight, etc is considered to be the substandard dogs, read more on the information pages). Also the breeding stock must live a little bit LONGER than 2-3 years !
I have owned dogs since 1977, and have been involved with the Neapolitan Mastiff breed (Mastino-Napoletano)
since 1984.
Over the past twenty years I have studied and researched Mastini extensively
with the objective of
developing a selective program to improve the breed and produce the Best and correct we can.
You could find very different names to the Neapolitan Mastiff breed in different sites, countries and places, some of them are correct and some are incorrect. Here they are:
Neapolitan Mastiff, Neo, Neos, Neopolitan Mastiff, Blue Mastiff, Bull Blue mastiff, Italian Mastiff, Italian Mastino, Mastim, Mastin, Matin, Cane Mastino, Il Mastino, Neo mastino, Mastino
