Kim was two days late so she ran out and got a pregnancy test. Having studied very hard for this test, she passed with flying colors.

5th month
Detailed testing reveals - It's a girl!. We plan to name her Anna Elizabeth (yes Auntie Becky it's after you - no wonder, she's already been a handful, and we're expecting even more). Anna is from Peter's Aunt on his mom's side, and Elizabeth was also Peter's maternal grandmother.
8th month
Anna just couldn't wait the full 40 week term. After incubating in Kim for 37 weeks she decided it was time to explore a new world. So at 5:30AM Oct 17, 2002 we headed off to St Mary's Hospital to await the arrival of Anna Elizabeth. Kim wasted no time getting Anna out, to the amazement of the entire staff. The common response seemed to be "I wish my first delivery had gone like this!". Four hours after labor was started Anna had arrived. Way to go Kim!

Anna Elizabeth
Born:
12:48 PM Thursday
October 17, 2002
8lbs 9oz
21.5 inches
Her first hours:
Anna had a little bit of a rough time getting used to her new environment. It seems she wanted to get in a little play time before exiting. While playing jump rope with her umbilical cord she managed to get tangled up in it, and while practicing her underwater breathing technique she managed to get some fluid in her lungs. To top it all off this hot little specimen was running a fever.

Her first days:
Anna spent most of the time sleeping and getting over her exhausting arrival. Her fever abated, her lungs cleared up, and her healthy appetite quickly appeared (you can't keep food from a Panzarella).
The trip home:
With discharge papers in hand, Anna was unleashed on the unsuspecting outside world four days after her triumphant arrival on earth.
Her first weeks:
Sleep, eat, scream and poop - that is how Anna spends her day.
Her first months:
More sleep, eat, scream and poop, plus lots of smiles. Here are some photos of Anna during the holidays.
