Series Point System for Determining Series Champions

The following guidelines will be used to determine the series champions.

1.  Legal Age and Rank Rule: All competitors must compete in their chronological age at the day and time of the tournament entered. All competitors must compete in their actual rank division earned at the day of the tournament entered.  If a series competitor has been promoted or has a birthday that places him/her into the next highest age group before the start of the next tournament in the series that competitor must move into the higher age or rank group. Parent, or Legal Guardian or Person who is responsible for signing for the Competitor must state this on their application for entry into the next tournament.

2.   All competitors are required to have a birth certificate or other equally valid document that substantiates their date of birth.  Competitor, Parent, Legal Guardian or Person who is responsible for transporting to or overseeing the Competitor at the tournament must have a birth certificate in their possession at each tournament. All points and awards earned in the higher rank group will be awarded and earned in the original division. If the competitor that moved up does not place 1-4 in the higher division that competitor will be awarded finalist points in each division. Therefore the moved competitor will be assured of at least 8 points.

3.2 If there is only one Competitor in a Kata event. That competitor will be awarded the GOLD MEDAL and all points will be earned. The competitor will  have the option to compete in the next highest age group in the same kata division and forfeit the gold medal and all points earned. All points and awards earned in the higher age group will be awarded and earned in the original division. D. The fourth highest score will receive
 a PLATINUM MEDAL

6.   For each Point Fighting event, the majority score of the 3 officials will determine if a point is awarded. The first competitor to reach 5 points in 2 minutes or less will be declared the winner. If the time has expired before a competitor reaches 5 points, the competitor with the most points will be declared the winner.
